This was a well equipped apartment and a good base to visit the island. We visited off season and the host was very helpful, with great communication and agreeing to our request for a later check out. A small village slightly descending to the harbor.

A small village slightly descending to the harbor. It has 2 restaurants - Gorgonia and Branco and one small grocery. In near proximity there is a nice small camping Madarino also with a good restaurant. The location of Verunić is good for exploring the northern tip of the Dugi Otok island. All the sea around this village is rather sheltered from the outer ocean so it is coinvenient for swimming and paddleboarding. All interesting sites (Sakarun beach, the lighthouse...) are within few kilometers by car or bicycle and you need not to conquer steep slopes. Of course, to get there you need to take a ferry Zadar (Gaženica) - Brbinj (approx. 1.5hrs) and then drive some 15km North. So this is extra cost/time to the trip and you need to adjust to the timetable. In high season it might be practical to pre-book the ferry at jadrolinia.hr.
