Cosy and well-kept little town surrounded by beautiful nature.
Spend one or two days visíting the main spots of the town: Erzsébet tér, Szent-József Church, Jézus Szíve Church, Bank Palace, Thury György Museum, Vasemberház, Kiskastély, Inkey-kápolna. A must-see is the MAORT-telep, the American workers' neighbourhood with its typical athmosphere.
Then head out to the nature: surrounding lakes (Csónakázó-tó, Gyékényesi-tó, Kistolmácsi-tó), Kőszikla-szurdok Nagybakónak (photo), Förhénc wineyard and more.

City is NOT tourist friendly!
City is NOT tourist friendly! We went to a couple of restaurants downtown and the staff didn't speak any other language but Hungarian. If you don't speak hungarian you won't be served. Spend your money elsewhere.
Very friendly night receptionist, rich and tasty brekfasts and well organised, large room, hair drier available in the bathroom. In the heart of the little town. The hotel is located in a very old historical building, but everything is clean and fresh. For sure we will be back.
Good location ideally situated when you go to Croatia from Hungary, excellent traditional in house restaurant , hotel rooms good value for money, friendly staff. I come here every year and am never disappointed.
