This hotel is in a good location, near the train station. The garden and buildings are very well-cared for and nice. Everything was very clean. There are nice options for breakfast. You can order eggs in many ways and my omelette was amazing!
The average price per night for a 3-star hotel in Sopron this weekend is $122 or, for a 4-star hotel, $201. Looking for something even fancier? 5-star hotels in Sopron for this weekend cost around $139 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).

Most museums were closed and so we had very few options to do. Most shops were also closed. We still enjoyed checking out the historical architecture... the old town was really sweet, lots to admire. Roman remains, Renaissance buildings, Fire Tower, good coffee and good food :)

Sopron is a pleasant relaxed city.
Sopron is a pleasant relaxed city. We appreciated the relative quietness of the place and that we could wander around without bumping into crowds. The old town is charming, and the 'Healing Pit' (Gyógy Gödör) is a great pub/restaurant. The food and drinks are delicious and the service is very good.

I use this hotel every time I am in Sopron on business, average two times a year unless it is fully booked up. It is under new management ( I have used it for 15 years ). The one criticism of the hotel is that checkout is at 10AM whereas most hotels of this standard checkout at 12, and that was the case before the new management took over. Beware!

Nice town close to Austrian border.
Nice town close to Austrian border. The center is very nice, and there are evident signs of a great past (starting from Romans). There is not a lot to see, besides the walk around the walls and some visits to the Tower and the historical landmarks in the Fo Ter. One full day, for the center, is enough in my view.

I can recommend Sopron as the place for various activities.
I can recommend Sopron as the place for various activities.
Historical monuments - the town has nice historical centre with many old houses (in course of renovation), churches and town walls.
Wine and Gastronomy - Go to the Tourist Information Office and ask for the guide: there are very good tips for restaurants with traditional Hungarian cuisine. For wine there are 2 very nice winebars or you can taste the wine in wine cellars.
Nature - the starting point to visit Lake Fertö National Park
SPA - I would recommend the thermal spa in Hegykö (15 minutes by car from Sopron)
The style of the building including an old wine cellar ( where also the breakfast was served)...the warm and friendly hosts...and the excellent location in a quiet street right in the heart of Sopron's old town. Excellent value for money and an amazing breakfast featuring a wide range of local products. Outstanding experience!!
This hotel epitomises good taste in furnishings and general hospitality.
From the moment one enters the Hotel’s court, one senses ‘something good’. The hosts are profoundly welcoming, yet at the same time, totally professional.
A wonderful place to recuperate from daily life.
The hotel is well located inside the pedestrian area, yet close to the street parking which is free on the weekends and public holidays. Breakfast was also great and the coffee machine inside the room was nice touch.
