Szeged is about architecture: Reock palace/museum, Great Synagogue, Art nouveau houses around the city centre and along the embankment, lovely squares, everything within walking distance. We ate at Tratoria il Divo, HBH Bajor Etterem and Classic Grill. Very relaxing experience at Anna thermal baths - clean renovated spaces, numerous thermal pools, not many people, mostly locals - probably one of the best thermal baths so far in Hungary!

Interesting buildings and pleasant main square. Not much choice of restaurants in the central area. Taxis unreasonably expensive for a short ride from the railway station to our accommodation. Good open-air market by the bus station.

It has always been and forever will be my favourite Hungarian city. I love that small town flair, yet you have everything you need right around you, be it stores, pharmacies, spas, wonderful city walks, culutral sights or a great university complex. I find this town very enjoyable for a visit to slow down, especially if you come from a busy capital. Love you Szeged, we'll see soon again!

We just stayed overnight to rest for long driving from Istanbul to Brussels. But it seems like the city is very nice and have loads to explore. We are considering to extend our trip in Hungary during next summer vacation and explore various cities including Szeged.

The city is beautiful and safe. We were near the city center and we had a large park across the street. The city center is very clean and organized. Very beautiful town and I will definitely visit it again.

I did not expect much, my expectations were well exceeded: this is one of the most beautiful towns I've ever been to, the food is amazing, the architecture is stunning and the people are full of dignity and slightly provincial aristocratism and charming melancholy. They don't speak English in most of the public spaces but in the restaurants and cafes they do. Don't miss The Old Bridge restaurant, the one with the fish at the river you might skip, definitely go to the cafe called Kelesztő for croissant and eggs Benedict, and cappuccino. Don't miss the Pick salami too, the museum is closed but there is a company shop that is great and with decent prices. Beer is cheaper than cappuccino and wine is cheaper than beer, so do your best to have wine!
