Fantastic Place to stay On arrival we were surprised by the gorgeous and well maintained garden at Sukun Babonsay Villas. Our Villa (10) was in excellent condition and exceptionally clean. The staff came every day to clean our place, exchanging towels and so on. The gardener was there every morning to maintain garden and pool. Everything is very well kept. Lovely small hotel, set up on a hill with wonderful views of the ocean. The sandy beach makes accessing the ocean much easier to enjoy the wonderful snorkelling that is available right in front of the hotel. All rooms have a balcony with ocean views, are kept immaculately clean, with a comfortable bed and well furnished. The staff are all fantastic. Very friendly, helpful and genuine care that you enjoy your stay.

It was a beautiful, peaceful place with lots of character and charm. Right by the beach and staff amazing. From the start everyone made our stay fantastic, going out of there way to make us extra comfortable. The food was delicious and pool a nice option after the beach. We went in the low season.

We went in the low season. Though it rained a few times, we loved the peacefulness of the area. Perfect for snorkeling and relaxing. I visited Ubud and Uluwatu at the end of my trip and was blown away by how busy it was, (particularly Ubud). I wish I had stayed in Amed longer, but we wanted to be closer to the airport.

Amed is low key and a bit ramshackle.

Amed is low key and a bit ramshackle. I liked it for those reasons. Background of dramatic mountains. Vibe is completely different to other parts of Bali. It’s not a party location and there is no glossy posse.

Amed is such a peaceful location perfect for people wanting to enjoy scuba, snorkeling, massage, nice food and beautiful scenery. It was very affordable, and you could do as little or as much as you wanted in terms of activities.

Amed is essentailly frequented by the diving community due to the many outstanding dive locations in the immediate vicinity, and there are numerous restaurants (Warungs) which are very reasonably priced. Easy to explore the local area by hiring a scooter.

Loved Amed but was only there for 2 nights, would definately go back for longer. Beautiful people and amazing local food. Great spot if you dont want the hussle and bussle of Kuta/Seminyak or Legian. The black beach was gorgeous and the sunsets were amazing, Great place for divers/snorkelling and fishing.

Amed was lovely, found some great eating places that were really reasonable. Gusto, Galangal, Warranga Amed with live music and fabulous hosts, Sunset view restaurant )the lower key more traditional one) the other Sunset view was too upmarket and commercialised. We loved riding around on the scooters and felt it was quiet enough to feel safe. Really enjoyed getting up into the hills from there to see the rural lifestyles.

Calm, relaxing stay with authentic location with superfriendly and helpful Balinese family. Food supertasty, snorkelling great (at least two turtles per day). Family keep facilities very clean, Wifi worked very well. Greatly arranged pickup from earlier place. Can hartly recomment this place: do not expect noise, party, beach sellers, white sand, but the feeling of "true" Bali, away from western and central Amed.

Spatious and comfy room with nice bathroom (not always the case in Bali) and nice balcony. The breakfast the morning with view on pool and beach, really relaxing! The location is also nice even if not in central Amed because more calm area and on Lipah beach there's amazing snorkeling spot already there! The staff is super kind. Big spacious room, excellent staff, seemed good value for money. ‘Amed’ is basically 14 kilometres of road bordering eastern Bali. This hotel is towards the end of the road. Some nice restaurants in the area but it is quiet. Decent scuba diving, with operator on site. They also do scooter rentals.
