Arrived a few hours early and went to the reception. There was no receptionist present, but there was a sign to contact someone in the bar, and a very pleasant and polite lady came out straight away and immediately went see if our rooms were ready and they were despite the fact we were 3 hours early, excellent service. Rooms were large and really clean with an excellent view of the harbour. Good shower and a clean and well stocked bathroom. I had a drink that evening, and the bar service was efficient and friendly. Excellent value for money.

The cottage has a wonderful old vintage feel to it with a modern twist. The surroundings are just beautiful which photos do not do it justice. If you are looking for a relaxing weekend to shut off from the world then this is the perfect place. The host Grace could not have been anymore informative.

It’s a small town which revolves around the fishing industry with excellent cafes two very good hotels, Bayview and Tara, plus lovely people. Short drives from several magnificent natural sights, cliff walks sea safaris and notable hills to climb.

We might have done a better job at researching what boat or land tours would be available. We had hoped to take a boa trip under Slieve Liege cliffas and maybe a day tour to Gleneveagh National Park or Inishowen. There was a small tourist info building, but it did not open until Monday. The helpful man behind the counter seemed to indicate that once the last cruise ship visit of the season was gone, things quieted down quite a bit. It was rainy and windy most of the time. We did take a local link bus out to Glencolumbkill; weather was damp and windy, but we enjoyed the ride and had a nice lunch at a cafe, and got some business done at the post office. So the stay was a little disappointing, but, as I said, we might have done a little more research before we went. We did meet some great locals waiting for the bus, etc. and had some great chats. Our first 8 days in Ireland, travelling with family who could only stay 7 nights was a smashing success!! We have all visited Ireland several times, at least.

Killybegs is a fishing town with a beautiful harbour with restaurants offering very tasty fresh fish dishes daily, and lovely bars if you fancy a tipple, the people are so nice and always have time for a chat. Killybegs is not to far from the historical Donegal town and the seaside resort Bundoran and lots of other beaches spread throughout the county, well worth a visit

This is a great little town and its growing. It has an amazing little sea port you can walk about and has a few great pubs with great food and of course, iced cold beers. Very convenient to everything if you are visiting this area of Ireland.

This is the friendliest place in the world. So many amazing places to eat with views that are unforgettable. Strangely there are no bins, not even a dog waste bin. This is the only bad thing I can think of.

Cormac is a great host. Offers plenty of useful tips and a great conversationalist. Great bed - Best sleep I had on our Ireland trip. Perfect stop for the night. Close to all amenities. Alternative, very healthy breakfast option on offer for a small fee as opposed to the usual full Irish
