Hope to be back again when in Dublin playing golf.
good walks , Marine hotel not very friendly not called by name but refered to as GUYS, dont book by room pictures or you will be disappointed , paid for family room but got small cramped room. advised this was the room we booked no way for the price paid 593 pounds for 4 nights will not stay again at this hotel.
The location is great, easy access to Dublin city (30 minutes by Dart), but more importantly, easy access to Howth (5 minutes) and the Airport (12 minutes by cab). Howth id a hidden gem in Dublin and far more pleasant than downtown city. This fishing village has fantastic seafood (Crabby Joes was my favourite), great walks (the cliff walk in particular), places of interest like the castles (Howth Castle and Deer Park, especially the garden behind the golf 19th hole) and weekend market, and it is tourist friendly. Of all the places visited in Ireland, it is right up there with Kinsale, and the Wild Atlantic Way!
We were lucky with the weather and with the sun shining everything looked lovely. Transport links are excellent. Nearby Howth is a delight. There is a huge choice of restaurants but we ate in the hotel every night and it was excellent. The walking and scenery are excellent.
Sutton is close enough to Dublin to visit but far enough away to leave the hustle and bustle behind. Access to Dublin is easy with both the bus and the Dart readily available. It has beautiful walks and is close to Malahide, Portmarnock and Howth.
Sutton is a great location. Trains and buses are nearby. Short journey into Dublin. Quiet area but so close to the city. Lovely walks nearby. Howth is close we explored the coastal footpaths. Views are stunning over Dublin bay. The estuary in Sutton has a great variety of birds. We loved watching the oystercatchers, Curlew, Brent geese, Turnstones and others. Bull Island nature reserve is very close. Very handy for ferry port.
Being at the sea, yet with all the facilities of a city at the door - buses literally and the local train service about six minutes walk from hotel. Buses went into centre of Dublin - where facilities to explore further were easily available.

We loved that the hotel has a walk way right down to beach from the rear of the hotel the beautiful view from room window was so tranquil and relaxing, there was such a relaxing atmosphere about this hotel that made us feel totally chilled. We had a helicopter ride booked for the next morning in Swords so to have a relaxing break the day before was definitely needed. Also the staff were extremely helpful and friendly...especially Ciara on arrival.
