its a lovely town and great location to stay in. Lots of nice pubs, restaurants, shops. Near lots of great beaches, the mountains, Achill Island, shopping in Castlebar. Westport Quay is a nice quiet spot to stay in, also has nice eating places, but its a 5 min car drive from Wesport town itself.
I liked Westport (I like Mayo anyway). In particular I very much enjoyed browsing in Westport's two bookshops and chatting with the owners/staff. Bought books at both -Tertulia and Seamus Duffy's Bookshop. Spent some time, and some money, in Sheelyn Browne's Print Gallery. Very interested in her lovely range of woodcuts and linocuts, and the technique and skills behind them. Funnily enough I was also quite impressed with the range of Kavanagh's own label produce in their exceptionally well stocked SuperValu. Next time I'll bring my bike and try the Westport Greenway, and maybe some of the Wild Atlantic Way.
Lovely place to be , people are friendly and cars stop for folks crossing the street. It’s a small area and could be rough if the people weren’t cautious as they are. Food and facilities are great, many things to do in this tight welcoming community. Music almost every night, theater, rare books store & book stores for readers, the place has just too many charms to mention… come and see for yourself.
The reception staff, the bar staff and the room staff/cleaners were all very helpful and courteous and couldn't have been any more helpful. thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will definitely make a return trip to Wyatt Hotel. Westport.
Fab time was had by all, attended my friends 60th Birthday party, so many great eating houses & tremendous pubs to enjoy!!! Needs to be on everyones bucket lists. So friendly, always there for you should you require any assistance.
I found WestPort to be a small, charming, friendly, un-tacky tourist town. It's a great place to walk and bike as long as you are prepared for the hills. If you are walking or cycling, get one of the Tourist Information paper maps. It's simpler and more accurate than Google. Make sure you see The Harbour if for nothing more than the incredible view of Croagh Patrick, tour The West Port House and do not miss the guided tour...the docents speak from deep knowledge and love of the site...and allow yourself the time to just walk about, taking the time to look, see, maybe grab a park bench and watch the world go by for a little bit. I'm not a foodie and tend not to frequent restaurants as I generally only eat lunch and find most restaurant portions too large. So, take this advice for what it is. I found the "Grab-and-Go" at both the Aldi and SuperValu quality for money. I do like coffee and as I can't drink large amounts anymore, do look for quality. If you like good coffee, do not miss the coffee at Krem's on Bridge St. You can add all the extras but try at least once the coffee black with just a smidge of brown sugar. I found WestPort to be a small Irish village that welcomes strangers into its warmth. When you go, see the attractions, yes, but take the time to breath in the air and enjoy that warmth.
Westport
Breakfast was superb especially because YOU decided what you wanted and they cooked it - custom made - especially for you! The location is excellent especially since I was attending a wedding at the very close by Knockranny Hotel. It is also just a short and very beautiful scenic walk from the town centre. The accommodation is superbly clean, lovely bright modern decor and the bathroom has the coolest mirror I ever saw! Smart flat screen TV with Netflix and Youtube. Lovely quiet location. Overall Excellent rating!

Not only was our stay at Mulberry House exceptional, the manager was exceptional as well. He offered to drive us into the town and pick us up after dinner, which we accepted with gratitude as we didn't know the area. When we called to be picked up, he was there within five minutes! I've travelled extentensively throughout Europe and this was the first time this service was offered! Will definitely stay there again on my trip to Ireland. Thank you!
It is a fabulous little hotel in a great location. It is in the middle of the town and within walking distance of all the shops, restaurants and pubs. It is spotless and the room we had was very quiet and comfortable. You can also walk from the hotel into the grounds of Westport House. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was very affordable and delicious.

I really enjoyed the meal and the table service was prompt and timely. The room and facilities met our expectations and I would have no hesitation in staying here again.
