Everything about this place (not just the hotel, but the whole village) was amazing. We came here in April and there was lots of snow on the ground and freezing winds coming from the north, but the sun was shining throughout our stay. If you're like us and want to breathe fresh air then Grundarfjörður is definitely the right place to be. The hotel was very cozy, and it was just by the water. There was free parking, big and comfy beds, nice bathrooms, mountain view from the windows, a microwave to use in the dining area in case you brought your own food..

It's the 2nd stay since 2025. The kitchen tools are perfect to cook. I left a rice cooker to use. I think the oriental guests will use it.

This accommodation is by far the best one we’ve stayed at our entire trip. It’s in a beautiful quiet spot and has a beautiful view of the water and mountains. The surroundings are magical when covered in snow. Deffs consider booking if you are visiting in winter. The complex is super quiet, we didn’t hear/see anyone else. I have very high standards when it comes to cleanliness and it passed. I hope the owner and future guests (if you’re reading this don’t be a grub) can keep the place this clean all the time. It was very much appreciated.

We had a lovely stay at Bjargarsteinn Stay. The accommodation has a charming old-fashioned character that makes it feel authentic and welcoming. It was clean, comfortable, and full of atmosphere. The highlight was definitely the wonderful view, which made our stay even more special. It's a peaceful place to relax and a great base for exploring the surrounding area. We would happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and cozy experience.
