FinlandA really nice little guesthouse. The room, furniture, and bed linens were in good and tidy condition. The shower had hot water, and the bathroom was adequate for a short stay.
The breakfast had a nice variety of both savory and sweet options, and in the evening, residents had access to a kettle and microwave.
Definitely a place worth staying if your travels take you to this part of Iceland.

Nice smell when coming inside, like incese. Breakfast wasnt basic at all, fresh watermelon, 2 other kinds of melon, sliced tomatos cucumber, different kinds of meat, cheese, butter, milks, yoghurts, bread, coffee and even boiled eggs. Clean rooms and super friendly staff and easy checkin and checkout.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It’s a perfect base for exploring Snæfellsnes, surrounded by beautiful nature with lovely views of the mountains and Snæfellsjökull. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We would happily stay here again!

One of my absolute favorite hotels i have EVER stayed in !!! So so gorgeous, modern and the comfiest bed and pillows ever 😭 will truly be thinking about this hotel and it’s gorgeous location for the longest time, so so worth the price & drive ❤️

The northern lights rippled across the sky the first and only night of our stay. That moment will live with me forever. As for the rest of the stay, the dinner and breakfast were delicious and filling, we loved the brown bread and jam the most.

The cottage was nice and clean. It is very convenient that you can check in on your own so late check in is not a problem. There is a nice restaurant nearby (Stapinn) and their soup was delicious, especially after such a long day.

I had aproblem with my car at Hellnar, both of my car tyres went flat. The staff of foss hotel Hellnar helped me a lot. Very curtsious and helpful staff.

The weather is important, even it's late at night in the summer time, you may just visit the kirkjufell if the sky is still clear. During our visit, it was covered up by the fog the next day morning.

We missed our first flight to Iceland through a technical problem.. I emailed to say we were arriving later .. the reception person rang me whilst I was still in London saying she was concerned about our safety driving 2 plus hours in the early hours of the morning and booked us into a sister hotel in Reykjavik at no extra charge.. fantastic customer service!!

Do the full ring around the peninsula.
Do the full ring around the peninsula. We visited in mid October so we could have used a little more light. Sunrise wasn't until 8:20 a.m.!
If you've ever seen seals on the shore, skip Seal Beach.
Anarstapi is a must see.

Olafsvik was a beautiful little town with everything within walking distance from our accommodation. The harbour wa pretty and a nice beach, we went on the whale watching trip and saw Orcas which was amazing !!! The roads in and out of town were quite snowy so u need a 4x4 in the wintertime

Hellnar is the perfect location, close to all the major attractions on the peninsula and an ideal place to spend the night while soaking in the beauty of the landscape. There’s a charming little café just a few minutes from the Peninsula Suites that serves the best waffles with jam and whipped cream, an Icelandic classic. The views are truly out of this world, we’ve never seen anything like it. Cliffs, ocean, glacier, and moss all come together in the most breathtaking way. It’s an absolute must on your trip!

Beautiful, remote yet friendly place. Remarkably helpful tourist centre and well maintained roads and buildings despite remoteness.
You need a car to fully experience the place. Come with your food for the stay as no shops in town.
Hellesandur and surrounding villages are beautiful. Recommend visiting the spa in olafsvik

The houses are nice, but the restaurant was disappointing along with the hot spring. Snaefellsnes is an expensive area to stay in, but we splurged a bit for Midhraun and it wasn't worth it in the end.

I had an absolutely amazing stay at Hotel Langaholt —...
I had an absolutely amazing stay at Hotel Langaholt — everything about it exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly warm, friendly, and down to earth. They made me feel so welcome and even offered me a complimentary upgrade to a newer, more comfortable room. The room itself was spacious, spotlessly clean, and had the most breathtaking view of both the glaciers and the beach.
The hotel has a lovely, charming atmosphere and is wonderfully peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax. Dinner was a real highlight — the seafood was freshly caught in the area and tasted incredible. Breakfast was just as impressive, with a great selection to start the day right.
One of my favorite moments was being able to take a short walk down to the beach after dinner. It was the perfect way to unwind — surrounded by nature, with the sound of the waves and the open Icelandic landscape all around.
What really stood out to me, though, was the kindness and flexibility of the staff. They even allowed me a late checkout so I didn’t have to rush in the morning. Every little detail was handled with such care, and the genuine hospitality made all the difference.
I can’t recommend Hotel Langaholt enough. It’s a special place that captures the beauty and warmth of Iceland in every way. I will absolutely be back and I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

I was climbing the glacier Snæfellsjökull with a group of people from FÍ (Ferðafélag Íslands). Arnarstapavegur is an excellent place to use as base for that activity as well as exploring the Snæfellsjökull National Park.

The parking by the fall is expensive at no reason.
The parking by the fall is expensive at no reason. It offers no services, like toilets. If the weather is ok and you like walking, there is a free spot closer to the city, 1mile or 1500m, with a trail to the fall. The fall and the mountain together in a pic are the postcard you imagined.
