Located in central Vestmannaeyjar, this hotel offers free sauna access, free parking and rooms with free Wi-Fi access and a TV. Vestmannaeyjar Golf Club is a 12-minute walk away. This was the quietest hotel we stayed in the whole time we were in Iceland! Of course, some of that may be because Vestmannaeyjar is just so quiet! The hotel location is perfect for just heading out and walking to explore. Breakfast was very good. Hotel staff was pleasant and the room and bed were very comfortable.
Located in Vestmannaeyjar town center, this hotel offers rooms and apartments with free WiFi access, tea/coffee facilities and a flat-screen TV. Vestmannaeyjar Ferry Terminal is a 5-minute walk away. Large clean and comfortable room; we were able to cook a simple meal. Right in the center of town, close to everything.
Located in Vestmannaeyjar, Lava Guest house features barbecue facilities and free WiFi. Featuring an ATM, this property also provides guests with a terrace. Guests can make use of a garden. It was beautifully decorated. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of electrical outlets for charging electronics.
Glamping & Camping is located in Vestmannaeyjar and has views of the mountains. All units include a seating area. I loved everything about this place. The island itself is kind of magical, and this campsite is in one of its loveliest corners. Its only a short walk in one direction to see a puffin colony, and in another to the (excellent) public pool. The common kitchen is clean and equipped with both cookware and china, and the bathrooms are nice. We stayed in a cabin, which was cozy and afforded a great night's sleep. Excellent value.
Guest house Hrafnabjörg is 1640 feet from Herjólfur Ferry Terminal, on Heimaey island, the largest of the Westman Islands. The guest house is housed in 2 buildings, located next to each other. Radna was awesome and very friendly and helpful. The island is amazing and would love to go back there
This Heimaey island guest house is 1640 feet from Herjólfur Harbor in Vestmannaeyjar. It offers a communal kitchen, TV lounge and free WiFi. Guest house Árny’s rooms have wooden floors. The host, Gaui, is very attentive to details and superb at making you feel comfortable. The breakfast was better than expected with fresh eggs, FRESH waffles, good coffee (better than most hotels), yogurt and all! This is a no brainer place to stay!!
Featuring a garden and a terrace, Lava House has accommodations in Vestmannaeyjar with free WiFi and garden views. With sea views, this property provides a patio. This apartment was one of our favorites, and we have stayed in apartments, hotels, and cabins all throughout Iceland on multiple trips. The location can't be beat - short walks to our favorite sights and restaurants on Heimaey; the Kronan and Bonus are both pretty much across the street so groceries are super close as well. We were able to check in a few hours early which was SO appreciated. It was more than enough room for our family of 4 and could accommodate a larger group. There is a small bedroom on the main floor with 2 singles (our kids slept here), and there is a large loft upstairs with a double and 2 more singles. We were pleasantly surprised by the washer/dryer as well (I don't think those were listed in the amenities so wanted to mention it).
Featuring a garden, barbecue facilities, and a terrace, Orange Key provides accommodations in Vestmannaeyjar with free WiFi and city views. With mountain views, this property has a balcony. The property was clean, comfortable and centrally located. I visited with my husband and parents. We all said we wished we could book the apartment for the summer and just experience the island. It was really one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever visited! The host of this property was friendly, responsive and efficient! We hope to visit again! It has been a life long dream to visit vestmannaeyjar and we were not disappointedd.
Vestmannaeyjar is know otherwise as the Westman Islands. We flew down; it was difficult to get a picture of the city until we took the Puffin and Volcano tour. Going to the side of Eldfell volcano with its rich red crushed lava was meaningful. Here is a tip: You are wasting your money paying the high feel to tour through the Sea Life Trust affair. Just to see two beluga whales, four years old approximately. That is far too much to spend. They act like they have the only belugas in captivity, so "hush, and keep out." On the Puffin and Volcano tour watch the wind, especially with small children; you don't want them blown away, do you? But the part we liked was meeting the people and seeing how healthy they are. This country, and its Westman Island a have a high standard of living, perhaps equal to Norway, Switzerland and Sweeden. The children are much more knowledgeable that some of the kids in the USA. The island is a microcozim (sp) of a group inhabiting the island for more than few centuries. Take a look at the harbor and its colorful boats and ships. Fish made the island and its wealth what it is today. The ferry operation is keen; they have a public pool. Plenty of people drive cars and use the ferry; it is like a machine operation the way they drive their cars on and off the ferry. You wait as if having an appointed tine to drive on! It is synchronized. The hospital was okay and can solve any emergency needs such as ordering a prescription of medications you left at home. Look at the ropes down at the dock; they are stretched for block; beautiful people; and the boys drove us wild with their perfect maneuvers, always wearing helmets. Don't miss Heimaey. You can fly down from Reykjavik. Oh! May I recommend the new addition at Hrafnborg (sp) Guest house. It is fantastic. Hrefna can tell you many important tips such as the place and time to view a slough of puffins nearby.
Great hikes though trails are poorly marked, and we could not find any helpful trail maps. Great views and puffin sitings. Entire island is very walkable so we left our rental car on the mainland and just walked. Walked from town to the southern tip of the island which has a nice puffin viewing shed, keeping the nests safe from tourists. Hiked up most of the volcano, which was great and highly recommended (though steep and gravelly). Northern cliff trails are breathtaking and you can see puffins nesting there, though again steep at the top and probably not good with small children. Great soup, cakes and coffee at Cafe Varmo in town.
What a fun place - definitely worth a stay when visiting Iceland. The puffin lookout was great - got to see whales in the bay. People are super friendly and a great atmosphere on the island. The volcano museum is very interesting and so important to the history of the people and the island.
Very beautiful place. Looking forward to coming there again. We visited Brothers brewary which was nice, modern but cozy, had very good beer selection :) We hiked through whole island and it was right thing to do, since you get to see a lot and get some fresh air at the same time. Getting around was pretty easy.
Go to the birdhide on Storhofdi - so many puffins. I could've sat there all day and watch them. The vistas were beautiful - we wish had more time to roam the island and maybe take it in from the water.
The Westman Islands make for a memorable overnight trip. The volcano museum does a wonderful job of explaining the 1973 eruption. And there are several neat buildings to see and views to enjoy. Just watch out for the wind!

It was very clean and a great location. Easy to get to and park near, as we brought our car over on the ferry. The owner was very helpful with tips for restaurants nearby. It was a little noisy with people talking and passing by outside, but that didn’t go on too late. The shared kitchen was different for us, but it was well equipped and we only had a quick breakfast there. The power strip was handy as we have several devices that needed to be charged.

We loved the owners! So very welcoming, they live right down the road and had such awesome suggestions and local info! They take such good care of the property! It's very close to where ferry comes in if you need to walk! There is shared kitchen available to make you're own meals. Breakfast was included.

I loved the setting surrounded by high cliffs with lots of birds. The little A frame was very comfortable and heated. We paid extra for linens which were clean and nice. It was an easy walk from the ferry to Glamping Camping. There are laundry and kitchen facilities available.

Spacious, clean, helpful information for visiting the island, well located, quiet, nice fish restaurant walking distance, bonus store near by too. Easy check in and check out. Definitely a great place to stay for couples or small groups.
Very spacious and well appointed. Very close to shopping, restaurants, and lava fields. Kitchen and dining room separate from living room, two bedrooms, and a private entrance. Extremely comfortable and beautiful! Highly recommended.

Love this place! It's about a 15 minute walk from the harbor, but it is right next to the hiking path to Eldfell. I even got to hike up and see the Northern lights! The room itself was perfect and the staff was super friendly. The kitchen and bathroom were clean and I would definitely stay here again! Thank you so much!

Great place on a beautiful island. We ended up with the whole house to ourselves during out stay. It was nice to have a "home" like feeling during our blustery days of camping throughout Iceland. We enjoyed this bit of respite. Cozy, nicely decorated, warm, and clean.
