Located in Vestmannaeyjar in the Suðurland region, with Gjábakkafjara Beach nearby, The New Post Office provides accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking. If it is not a basement apartment-you will absolutely love it. Apartments on regular floors are spacious, well equiped, extremly clean and kept with simplicity in a good taste. We travel a lot and had professional experience in the travel industry as well-this place is simply amazing! Basement will suprise you with a luggage storage, bicyckle storage, laundry room and even with a common area for guests to relax or wait after your check out or before check in. Location is wonderful and the staff is leaving coffee after previous gusts hanging on the hallway, so the new guests can take if they wish-what a nice idea!
Lítið einbýlishús á besta stað. In Vestmannaeyjar provides accommodations with free WiFi, 18 miles from Seljalandsfoss, 1.2 miles from Vestmannaeyjar Golf Club and one mile from Smáeyjar. The location was great and Thordis was very nice and responsive. The living area was cozy as well as the eating area.
As soon as we arrived by ferry, we went hiking, then dinner at Gott, then puffin watching. Unfortunately we were not in the right place to see the true puffin colony (keep going up that road!) but we enjoyed what we did get to see.
Its a must to visit the volcano museum, and I recommend the rib safari. I liked the hike to the volcano crater and the atmosphere of the Islands. The public swimming pool is nice and local restaurants really good.
Great side trip for the south coast. Enjoyed the volcano museum and walking on the volcano. Good restaurants. Very scenic. Loved seeing the puffins on the cliff viewing blind. We had a car but a person could do most things without one.
Great place to see puffins. The view point in the edge of the island is great and the sea life sanctuary as well. We liked the pizza place near the main street, the brewpub and gott restaurant ( many places offer a 10% discount for this restaurant. It is worth it to get this before going). Good pool. Nice volcano hikes. If one arrives early then a one day trip with no night stay is enough. Otherwise maybe one can stay the night as well.
We left our car at the ferry dock. You don’t need a car on the island. We took the bus tour and did a hike around the town and island. There are many things to do: boat tours, hiking, museums, bird watching, golf, bike rentals Ferry ride was wonderful too. We ate at Gott and lived our meal there. Several other good restaurants. We tried to do a tour with Kayaks and Puffins but unfortunately it was too windy to go. Egill was so helpful in planning our trip. Definitely go and be sure to spend the night or two.
Picturesque island, perfect for a summer vacation. There are several hiking trails, some to the volcano, many places to watch puffins and there is a sanctuary to see the beluga whales. The restaurants on the island are all very good.
They gave us a nice big room, and the bathroom was very good. The hotel was very well located, walking distance to restaurants and to the Beluga Whale and Puffin Sanctuary, which was great because we could see puffins swimming in the water. There is a restaurant downstairs that does their breakfast but is a separate business, I think. Breakfast was fine, nothing special, but certainly adequate.
Good place to stay few nights if you plan to explore around Vestmannaeyjar Island without spending to much money. Cool space looking capsules with LED stripes, TV, USB port for charging your phone, regular socket, headphones and large mirror. Also there is a well equipped kitchen and clean toilets inside this hostel.
The view is absolutely gorgeous, overlooking part of the island and the ocean. Once we were on the island messaging with Brynja was quick and easy. They were able to let us check in a couple hours early since we arrived on the first ferry of the day. The beds were super comfy!
a beautiful place in the center of vestmannaeyjar. great location as you can literally reach everything in short walking distance. the place is VERY comfy
Central location, easy walk from the ferry. Close to shops and restaurants. Well equipped kitchen, very clean, on-site laundry.
Highly recommend!! Incredibly clean and quiet. Perfect location within walking distance to restaurants and the local brewery,
