It was such a relaxing place, the views are to die for..plenty of quite peaceful places to sit and enjoy and also the restaurant bar area was a lovely place to sit. As on a property opportunity for activity to go fror walk through countryside also possible. Met by host who was warm friendly very welcoming.

Great pool, great hotel beach, nice personal, great breakfest. Room was also nice and clean,with modern outlets (USB A and USB C ports included) . Wifi was also pretty good (on hotel standards).

It is a very nice place to stay in Alghero. If you are travelling with a car, it is good that you can leave your car in street around the hotel. And also walking distance to old town is perfect for evening walks. Staff is really helpful and friendly especially Maximiliano - thanks for your wonderful service!

Everything! Location was very near the old town, no more than a few minutes on foot. Staff were very welcoming. Our room was ready 3 hours ahead of check in time. Bedroom was a reasonable size, comfortable bed. Breakfast and upstairs terrace were really fantastic, with an amazing view of the old town and sea. A very good choice of delicious sweet and savoury items, including pancakes! Pretty good value for money considering the location, free parking right outside the hotel and the great breakfast.

The room was super clean! It was like brand new, not like a room that was used and clean! This is the most important to mention! Super clean! It's not something special, but for price it is 100% great! They have also delicious breakfast on the balcony! Lady on the reception meet us with a huge smile and perfect English! Location of the place is very nice and safe! We loved it, as it is not at the super central spot with all the traffic and tourists!

Sardinia’s Catalan Gem

The walled town of Alghero on Sardinia’s west coast has an altogether more down-to-earth vibe than the more exclusive Emerald Coast on the opposite side of the island. In fact, it feels more Catalan than Italian.

The seafront walls and defensive towers surrounding the historic centre were actually built by the Catalans in the 16th century, and many residents still speak a dialect from that era. However, Sardinia has been inhabited since prehistoric times, and the Nuraghe di Palmavera stone dwellings outside the town are evidence of this. Another nuraghic site is Anghelu Ruju, near Alghero Fertilia Airport.

South of the airport is sandy Maria Pia Beach which continues all the way to Alghero harbour and is lined with beachfront hotels, bars and restaurants offering tasty seafood, including local lobster. Boat trips leave the harbour to Neptune’s Grotto along the coast. Next door is Nereo Cave, supposedly the largest Mediterranean sea cave and a popular diving spot.

Also worth visiting are the pedestrian streets of the old town, packed with shops and pavement cafés. Also here are 16th-century Palazzo d’Albis and the cathedral with its mixed architectural styles.

Alghero is an absolutely charming and beautiful town, and we only wish we had had more time to spend there. There are plenty of activities nearby, and we especially enjoyed the dolphin-watching trip combined with snorkeling – it was one of the highlights of our stay. Visiting Neptune’s Caves by boat is also a unique experience and definitely worth doing. In the evenings, Alghero has a lovely lively atmosphere, with plenty of good restaurants and places to enjoy a nice dinner. We would happily return and spend more time exploring the area.

Alghero is a lovely town with a perfect mix of history, atmosphere and beautiful beaches. Walking along the old town walls in the evening was a highlight, with stunning views and a great atmosphere. The old town streets are lively, with plenty of restaurants and bars, and the seafood was excellent. The crystal-clear blue water at every beach we visited was incredible, and spending time at the different beaches was an absolute joy.

Alghero is for an active holiday, it is recommended to rent a car to visit the local beaches that are not close. It is possible to use public transport. The top 5 beaches are quite far from Alghero, 1h - 2h drive. The old town is small but interesting.

Alghero old town is beautiful and I would stay in this part of town. The local beaches are within walking distance and are ok, €25 a day for 2 lounges and umbrella. The sea is amazing and warm. We had two boat trips, one to the grotto ( amazing) and a whole day trip for swimming which I’d highly recommend. Get the bus to Bosa which takes an hour, a beautiful place on a river. You don’t need long a few hours there.

Romantic city where you can have walks around the sea, watch the sunset and have delicious food specially in the old town. We visited the beaches nearby Alghero like Spaggia Maria Pia. Parking in Alghero can be tricky late at night.

We loved the old town - pleasant to wander round, eat and drink. The boat trip out to Neptune's Grotto was excellent. We did a day trip to Bosa - although the bus there was easy to get, the buses back were really problematic, leading to a stampede at the bus stop which was extremely unpleasant for everyone involved; getting alternative transport back proved very challenging. We were there in extremely hot weather which made travelling further afield, particularly inland, undesirable. Hiring a car recommended given issues with overcrowding on buses.

The house was perfect for our family , 2 parents with 2 teenager daughters, with two spacious sleeping rooms , very good isolated and easy to workaround with a beautiful garden with colorful plants.The owner(Salvatore) welcomed us to the house door and explain everything necessary regarding the house and a very useful indications what to visit , and what to do and what not in the beautiful Sardinia.To be honest ,we felt there like it was our home.

The place is fabulous! Very authentic vibe, coziness and comfort. Impeccably clean, ideal linen - like in a luxury hotel. I absolutely loved the patio - a wonderful private escape ). Liliana is a great welcoming host, nice and kind. I feel lucky for having this truly Sardinian experience.
