Hotel Italia, hotel in Cagliari

Set in the historical centre of Cagliari, 50 metres from the port, Hotel Italia offers air-conditioned rooms, a free fitness area, and free WiFi throughout.

This is a great hotel in a perfect location, couldn't be more central to so many bars and restaurants. Train station is only a few minutes walk away. Staff on the front desk were very friendly and girl who checked us in found us a room ready even though we arrived very early. Room and bathroom were spotless and air con worked brilliantly which was well needed in 38 deg heat! Breakfast was very nice, usual meats, cheeses, bread, fresh fruit, lots of cakes. And the setting on the 4th floor terrace was very pleasant every morning. Would definitely stay here again.

Birkin Porto 1870, hotel in Cagliari

Birkin Porto 1870 is located 5 km from Poetto Beach. Rooms include a TV. Certain rooms have views of city. All rooms include a private bathroom with a shower and bidet, with free toiletries provided.

I have loved staying here at Mari’s apartment . It is quite and well furnished. Everything is as in pictures. There is everything needed. Really there can't be a better place if you need an escape from the crowded and noisy cities. It is right 30 metres from the sea and there is either a free huge beach or a LIDO to get umbrella or chairs . It is located 50 metres from the village centre. Here you find supermarket, tobacconist, bars , pizzeria , restaurants to taste local cuisine ( arancini and granita ice creams are the best. are already a few minutes away from Milazzo Port to get ferries to aeolian Islands . I highly recommend it . It was a great stay! Thanks Mari

FAQs about hotels in Cagliari

Sardinia in a Nutshell

The Sardinian capital, Cagliari has a historic old town, busy port and one of the island’s best beaches. The sweeping stretch of sand at Poetto offers great summer nightlife, and just inland is Molentargius lagoon, where flamingos nest against the backdrop of the city.

Cagliari is spread over a small hill and the oldest part – Quartiere Castello – lies at the top. There are far-reaching views from Bastion San Remy, its main entrance point. Medieval city walls lead from here to the simple cathedral, and nearby is the 18th-century Palazzo Regio.

By one of the original city gates is the National Archaeological Museum, housing a collection of Phoenician and Roman artefacts from the city’s Tuvixeddu Necropolis. There are also displays of the nuraghic civilisation whose former dwellings pepper Sardinia. The most impressive is Su Nuraxi north of Cagliari.

Just outside the walls are remains of a Roman amphitheatre, next to the university botanical gardens. Orange tree-lined streets descend the hill towards the seafront where restaurants and bars can be found. Cagliari FC play at Sant’Elia Stadium along the coast and opposite is the Sardinia International Fair, an important conference venue.

Booking.com’s Cagliari accommodation includes luxury hotels with pools, B&Bs by the train station and cheap guest houses near Elmas Airport.

Everything was top notch, I would not say a lot about the great and extremely tasty food, fantastic coffee everywhere you go, fresh seacity air and unbeliveably, breathtaking views mixed with the local atmosphere - It was a great time in Cagliari. We travelled the island during the trip and found this city having the best food up there. But. But, pay attention the locals are trying to throw you on money, especially taxi drivers and relaxation areas workers ( like spa ). Taxi is a mess in Cagliari, I would suggest renting a car or using public transport. Calling a cab is a huge issue since just a little talk barely English and you will be charged for the car delivery as well. It's always coming from a mid of the city, if you travel within the city - the charge isn't that much, but if you are somewhere around Cagliari, expect the price to be overhigh because of the delivery time and distance calculated to your final bill. Also, there were times where we went home on foot calling a taxi while IN the city because the waiting time would be 40-50 minutes, all that while experiencing rude and unbehaviour speeches of the taxi operators explaining that to us. Some of them would just hang up the phone on you. The other guy, also taxi operator, screamed at me because I asked him to repeat once again, since I didn't get what he said due to bad connection. Sum up, taxi is a mess - if you can, avoid it. Be careful with your money, there are many people up there trying to get another penny out of you wallet.

Rather disappointed, the city and buildings are relatively poorly maintained and there was little to see that was exciting. The city has a long history, but it is lacking an appropriate adaptation to today's world. A short afternoon guided bus tour gave me a good indication of the key sights and what the city is all about.

We arrived late @Suite Cagliari after a long day of travel - and what a delight it was to walk into the apartment! Every nuance had been attended to - from the generous feast in the fridge (cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, yoghurt, soft drinks - too much to mention) to biscuits, crackers, a fresh tart, pretty, eco-friendly soaps and shampoo, a wonderful Nespresso machine (and milk frother!), and individually bagged towels. Giula was in touch prior to our arrival, during and after our stay, making it all so easy. And really special was a wonderful surprise delivery by Giula of delicious croissants and a bottle of wine on our second last day. Suite Cagliari has earned 10/10 on every level for our 5 night stay. Giula has set the bench mark very high… It will be hard to beat as we continue our travels through Italy. 🇮🇹 Grazie ♥️

We were only transiting Cagliari, needed to sleep a few hours. Everyone we came in contact was very open, relaxed, helpful. Wonderful places. We walked to Cala Fighera beach, then Sella del Diavolo - take a lot of water with you and sun protection. Charming old town.

Great location in Marina district, walking distance to most sights in central Cagliari, waterfront and also the train station for the airport train. Large comfortable bathroom. Good breakfast - a bit more than the usual Italian standard (but do not expext eggs and bacon :) ). We had a very early start the last day to catch a flight, earlier than the regular breakfast hours, but our host kindly left us most breakfast stuff on the table the night before, so we did not need to start hungry.

WAS ONLY A 1 NIGHT STAY AS WE WERE CATCHING A TRAIN THE FOLLOWING MORNING to continue to the North of SARDINIA. The Train station was adjacent to the hotel which made for an easy departure. We were greeted on arrival by GABBY, he was most welcoming given our late arrival. Superb kitchen/Diner area with all the Facilities and the Bedroom was equally excellent. We stayed at 4 Hotels during a 15 day tour of Sicily and Sardinia and in terms of value for money..easily the WINNER!

The location is close enough to the airport to be reasonably quick to get there on a night fight. The hotel offers a shuttle to avoid going trough the dark country road that connects the airport to it. The breakfast is Italian style, so cake, coffee, some charcuterie and cheese, eggs prepared by the hosts. All very nice. The hosts are very nice and kind, and they helped us a lot during the stay.
