The host is a really nice lady who welcomed us and explained everything we needed. The apartment is big and comfortable, has a private parking and the location is very close to the Palazzo Te, which is nice, although it is a bit farther from the city center, but there is a free shuttle bus from the palace to the center if you don’t want to walk.

Roberto is a fantastic host! I was early on my arrival day and he allowed me to check in immediately as well as to check out late on the day I left. He speaks good English and was very kind and helpful, giving me lots of local information and serving very good coffee in the morning! The room was very clean and comfortable, with a great private bathroom. The location was also ideal, just about 10 minutes walk from the centre. I definitely recommend this place. Everything! The apartment is beyond stunning -- the main room is covered in 15th century frescoes -- and overlooks the courtyard and art gallery, so it is completely quiet at night. The host is friendly and kind and his property manager, Pierangela, was lovely -- she even collected me from the train station! The flat is well-equipped, with a dishwasher and amenities, e.g., hair dryer, coffee maker, coffee, tea and biscuits (a nice touch). I only wish I could have stayed longer! Mantova is a very pretty place that deserves more attention. People are friendly, the vibe is easygoing, and there is plenty to see. The Palazzo Ducale is magnificent -- and I say this as someone who has seen a fair few palaces. But don't miss the lesser-known Palazzo Te, with themed rooms inspired by classical mythology. The Chamber of Giants is one of the most mind-blowing paintings I've ever seen -- it wraps around the entire room and ceiling. Do not miss it!
