Set in Monreale, 984 feet from Duomo di Monreale, Opera Boutique Rooms offers accommodations with a restaurant, private parking, a bar and a shared lounge. staying overnight in Montreal’s at Opera B&B is extremely practical and more convenient than visiting from Palermo. plus we really appreciated the super welcoming owner who really makes every single step better and warm: Franco came to pick us up at the parking at half past midnight, prepared the most generous and tasty breakfast and gave us superb information for visiting the cathedral and cloister.
Locanda Re Ruggero is set opposite the cathedral in the historic center of Monreale, a picturesque town on the slopes of Mount Caputo. The air-conditioned rooms all feature free Wi-Fi. The location was perfect, close to restaurants and cafes, clean place, comfortable
Providing free parking and free Wi-Fi access, B&B Elvira Al Duomo is 1969 feet from Monreale Cathedral. Its classic-style rooms have air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and private bathroom. Breakfast is served on the terrace, which is covered in winter. everything was perfect. Our suite was very clean and with all comforts. there is a nice restaurant nearby, La Macina, with excellent food and the Cathedral is very close to Palazzo Ducale Suites.
Offering city views, A casa di Simona in Monreale has accommodations, a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace. Both WiFi and private parking are accessible at the bed and breakfast free of charge. One of the best breakfasts during our two week tour of Sicily- enormous offering of quality foods
Set in the Conca d'Oro Valley, Rocca Di Monreale is at the foot of Monreale, 4.3 mi outside Palermo along the Corso Calatafimi road. Not sure where to start- My wife and i were treated like family. The daily breakfast was an amazing array of beautiful fresh local and homemade foods, to suit all tastes, (to the point where extra food was sourced by Manuela, for my wife). The room was spacious and clean. Our room lead out to the enormous terrace, which had amazing views and an excellent array of comfortable outdoor furniture where we enjoyed dinners, lunch, and drinks. The free in house parking was such an underrated luxury as it provided us the security to know that our hire car would not be damaged overnight, or even more stolen.. Rocca Di Monreale was an absolute highlight, we would highly recommend it to everyone, including our family and friends and we will definitely stay there again when next in Sicily.
Set 2297 ft from Duomo di Monreale and 6.2 mi from La Zisa, Casa Normanna in Monreale offers air-conditioned accommodations with views of the city and free WiFi. Extra nice large bathroom, very nice breakfast, and our host, Renata, was very friendly and helpful. Easy walk to Monreale Cathedral and restaurants.
Set 10 minutes' walk from the historical center of Monreale, B&B Al Giardino offers rustic or elegant rooms set in a traditional Sicilian countryside villa. Lovely property, quiet, in nature, very kind hosts. The rooms are very clean, brand new bathroom with amazing shower, comfortable beds, nice linens, parking onsite, and charming antiques and artwork. The garden and pool are nice. Breakfast delicious! Easy to drive up to Monreale for dinner. The owner made a dinner reservation for us at Peper—delicious and authentic cuisine! Just 15 minute drive down to Palermo (or take a taxi). We parked on the street in Palermo outside of the city walls. Palermo is a busy and gritty city but so full of life!! Loved our stay. We loved our week in Sicily The Sicilians are charming!!
Located in Monreale, 5.9 miles from Palermo Cathedral and 6.6 miles from Fontana Pretoria, Palazzo Liberty provides accommodations with free WiFi and a terrace. very friendly and easygoing owner, card/cash payment options, very high quality interior with cool design, shared kitchen with free coffee and small bites and cold mineral water, central location, extremely comfortable bed and memory foam pillows, great aircon.
We spent only an afternoon here, but so glad that we included it on our trip. The cathedral was the most beautiful we had seen on our trip to Italy - we also visited ones in Palermo, Cefalu, and Catania. There were several interesting restaurants on side streets near the town center and we found a lovely ceramic/mosaic shop just off the central square. Views were amazing and it was an easy car ride to the airport for our departure the next day.
Although you can get in the cathedral free to see the mosaics, I would suggest you get the inclusive tickets (€12) to see the Cloister, the Cathedral, the Sanctuary and get up to the roof for a fantastic view of the Cloister and the town.
For us the cathedral was the centrepiece, why we were there, and the 12th century mosaics were stunning. We also enjoyed seeing the cathedral packed with young, local families, after hundreds of years still a centre for the local community
The Duomo both inside and outside is spectacular. The small town itself is very picturesque as well, with some great little restaurants (e.g. Pepers and pizzeria Antica de Guillermo opposite the main entrance to the Duomo) and beautiful views of Palermo in the distance. It's a good place to stay as you avoid the pain of driving in the busy centre of Palermo. You can leave the car in Monreale and take a 20-minute bus ride into the centre for €1,40 one way. You get the bus tickets from any tobacconist.
The cathedral is breath-taking and worth a trip unto itself, but Monreale is also an ideal staging point for trips into nearby Palermo. We had great food and sight-seeing within Monreale itself and took advantage of a good bus system to spend a day in Palermo. It was easy to do and we enjoyed everything we did here.
In some ways, a typical Sicilian hill-town, with narrow streets, pavement-cafes, etc. But it has an amazing 12th-century cathedral, internationally famous for its mosaics. In the day-time there are plenty of tourists. In the evenings - especially at the week-end - it belongs to the people, with families strolling together, meeting friends and calling in for food and drink at the local eateries.
Amazing villa with nice garden, big and comfortable terrace. Well equipped kitchen, we never 'missed things' when were cooking. Good location to explore Palermo and Monreale with a car. Very good and stable WiFi, we were able to work remotely with husband without any problems. The owner of this villa is caring, always was ready to help. Allowed us to check in a little bit earlier. Thanks a lot! I would highly recommend the Villa Tiziana especially for families with kids.
The big advantage was self-check-in, arrival possible at any time. Accommodation is in the historic center, just a few meters from the Monreale Cathedral. Amazing rooms, helpful landlady who advised us and booked a place in an excellent restaurant.
Extra nice large bathroom, very nice breakfast, and our host, Renata, was very friendly and helpful. Easy walk to Monreale Cathedral and restaurants.
