I don't understand the stupid reviews I read about this hotel. At least I had a good laugh with the owner about the frustrated people writing them.

Montepulciano is beautiful, and you can see pretty much everything within a day. If you plan to stay more than two days, it's worth investing in a nicer stay to relax. My boyfriend and I stayed at Cugusi BNB and it was amazing!
This was a sweet hilltop town with steep winding lanes. It seems primarily focused on wine with lots of shops and venues for tastings. As it's essentially a one-street town it doesn't take long to explore, so our one day stop seemed adequate. It's worth noting that the better trattorias filled up quickly during the dinner hour and it might be worth making a reservation at your preferred spot earlier in the day so that you don't miss out. We had breakfast in the bottom of the tower with the striking clock and both the coffee and croissants were excellent.
Great destination if you are looking to sample fine wines and good food. There is some interesting shopping in some of these small boutiques. Do be prepared for a lot of uphill walking as the old streets through the town are very steep. This is not really a place for someone with mobility issues. Not a particularly good destination for those who would not be interested in the wine, or tasting same in the various cantinas. But the people are very friendly, the food is good, and it is a wonderful place for just soaking up the atmosphere of an old hill town. Don’t just limit yourself to the town… Get out into the countryside also.
The host at this small hotel was very personable, the accommodations were more than adequate, and the room was very clean and quiet. Montepulciano is a charming town but being in my late 60’s the steep streets were a bit challenging. I would recommend the town and accommodations to any strong person who enjoys beautiful views, charming atmosphere and is not intimidated by the vertical challenges.
Montepulciano was the best shopping and dining of all the hilltop towns we visited. Hop on hop off "red route" bus provided excellent transportation and education on the city. Temple of San Biagio is a must see, just down the hill from the city walls. Tour of "underground city" from a wine shop was fantastic and very enlightening on how things used to be. Best grocery store seen during entire trip very easily accessed at edge of Montepulciano -CONAD
Charming hill town with incredible views of the countryside. Many places to sit for a coffee, glass of wine, or a wonderful meal. Take the tram tour right away to see the whole town. Lots of vertical streets, but worth it. And the wares from the local artists are amazing.
Montepulciano
The property is situated on top of a hill and the view from there is amazing. Very peaceful place, if you are looking to relax. Our room was very big, the bathroom is impeccable and we had a big terrace were we could enjoy the evening. The rooms have AC. The staff is very friendly and nice. The property is outside Montepulciano, a couple of minutes away by car. The croissants from breakfast are super delicious. It also has a pool with a great view but we didn’t use it. A good value for money. Definitely would come back.
Montepulciano
This was a perfect experience for us. Davide and his family made us feel happy and welcome the minute we arrived. The room was comfortable and clean. We had a chance to relax by the fire drinking wine made by Davide, chatting with fellow guests and the family. Antonella's cakes are not to be missed! We were deeply touched when, after we checked out, Davide suggested if we were ever passing through, to come visit for a cup of espresso. This stay was definitely the highlight of our vacation in Italy.
Montepulciano
Very friendly welcome by the owners, a retired Indian couple with an interesting backstory. Clean rooms, tasty breakfast. The eating area and swimming pool share the amazing views on the winery and Montepulciano on top the hill. We did a winetour and tasting with the owner, who produces completely biological. The wine was excellent so we went home with a few boxes in the car. There’s a folder with activities and recommendations in the area, all tested by the owners, the ones we tried were well worth.
Montepulciano
Andrea and his staff operate an incredible piece of beauty and serenity at their agriturismo property. Our every need was addressed and we were treated like royalty. The grounds are spectacular and the room was quite charming. The restaurant on site is beautiful and serves amazing food through excellent service. The pool has an amazing view of the valley and everywhere on the property there is a view of the medieval hilltop town of Montepulciano. This is a piece of Tuscan paradise.

This B&B is absolutely stunning, an amazing property in a beautiful location. The rooms are lovely and comfortable with excellent air conditioning. Just a short drive or walk into Montepulciano as long as you don't mind walking up the hill. The pool is amazing and this was the best breakfast we had anywhere in Italy. Sandy and Phil are lovely people and incredibly helpful with recommendations and making reservations at restaurants. I wish we could have stayed longer!
Montepulciano
Such a charming hotel! The staff was lovely, friendly and very helpful. Our room was lovely, clean and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was a delight. The hotel made a reservation for us for our dinner at a local Michelin winning restaurant. Such a treat and we appreciated their suggestion. The view from the front terrace is amazing and the location is wonderful being so close to the main square.
Montepulciano
The breakfasts were delicious with a wonderful variety of fruits, meats, cheeses, homemade cakes and a menu of other items to order from! The accommodations were top notch with a charming, vintage feel. Rooms were very spacious and well appointed. Elena was so personable and gave wonderful suggestions for things to see in the area. Montepulciano is a terrific town to stay in!
A traditional hotel in lower Montepulciano. I was in the third floor because I don't mind a missing elevator and I asked for a room with a view. The little balcony on the backside of the building had a stunning view overlooking all the landscape towards Assisi. The room was very quit, the bed comfortable and the breakfast very good.
Montepulciano
A very spacious 4 bedroom apartment in a beautiful old villa, with spectacular views of Montepulciano and Tuscan hills. Private patio. Very quiet and peaceful property. A beautiful swimming pool and deck. Walked into town in about 20 minutes. We purchased a bottle of the host’s top red wine and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Montepulciano
Attention to every detail. An amazing hotel in a building which was over 800 years old. Owner was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast in a room with incredible luxury. Minibar in main room when ever you felt like having a cocktail. Superb stay in the charming town of Montepulciano!

The host Roberto really makes this place. His hospitality makes you feel at home from the start (personal escort on his motorbike to the hotel). Breakfast was amazing on their lovely rooftop terrace. Location is perfect right in the center of Montepulciano.

absolutely everything. from the moment we arrived, Christine welcomed us and gave us a tour of the place. we straight away felt at home and so at ease. the room was absolutely beautiful, the pool was unbelievable and the food is just delicious. but what we loved the most was how the staff at Lupaia are so attentive and kind. they all took the time out to accommodate our needs and made us feel so special. Patricia was wonderful and made sure we were looked after very well during our romantic dinner that was organised for us. we cannot wait to come back next year!
Montepulciano
Everything was idyllic. the location on a hillside overlooking the valley with gentle breeze in the warm sunshine. Beautiful, characterful Manor House which hadn’t been overly modernised but still stylish. Delicious food. fantastic service. pretty shady gardens and olive trees right up to the pool. All within a few mins drive from stunning Montepulciano and world class vineyards everywhere. Pure heaven
