Lovely friendly host. We arrived late and hungry and Lorenzo prepared us fresh pasta and apple cake! Incredible location in a mountainside medieval village. Perhaps take a hot water bottle if you visit in Winter though! 😁

Absolutely stunning place. 173 steep stone steps up the hill, you reach this hidden gem in the middle of the Ligurian mountains. From morning till night, all you want to do is gaze over the mountains, and you will never wish to be anywhere else. Leo is the perfect host and then a little more. Very helpful and extremely kind, and in addition to this, he is a great cook🍋 We were lucky to get a chance to participate in his wonderful dinner. Thank you! Every morning he serves a luxurious breakfast on the terrasse, we felt very spoiled💕 In less than half an hour, you reach the Mediterranean and can jump into the beautiful turquoise water from eg. Chiavara, Sestri Levante, or anywhere else. A must is to visit Portofino, either by car, bus, or boat, departing from several harbors along the coast. Charming villages everywhere, but the best part of going to the coast is to return to the mountains and climb the 173 steps to your calm and lovely place ⛰️. Down the hill, there is a wonderful restaurant, Ca' di Prei, with local dishes, and a bit further down is the Michelin trattoria La Brinca. Make sure to book your table well in advance!🍝 We loved the car ride up the steep and narrow roads, and we learned to appreciate the steps from the parking lot to Farmhouse Castagnola 64. By the way, make sure to bring home a bottle or two of Leo and Lu's own olive oil 🫒

Absolutely everything was fantastic. The staff are incredibly friendly. The breakfast spread was excellent - freshly baked cake every day, croissants, fruit, breads, cheeses, meats, cereals and coffee from a machine. The afternoon apperitivos are very reasonably priced with good snacks. The room was very clean and smelled great. I was in a small double room facing the railway which could be very loud but closing the window blocked out all of the noise. Great location - walking distance to both the Lavagna and Chiavari train stations, the ocean right outside and lots of restaurants nearby. Safe location for a solo female. Highly recommend staying here.

Very welcoming and helpful staff! Upon arrival to our room, we had a weird whistling sound coming from the bathroom (evacuation problem). When we highlighted this at the reception, they changed our room straight away 🙂 The rooftop is amazing as we were able to have a drink at night and a lovely sunny breakfast in the morning next day! Keep it up!

Everything was great: the location, has the greatest view I've ever had at a hotel I've stayed at, both from the restaurant and from the rooftop bar. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the staff especially kind and the breakfast rich and varied. We will come back for sure!

I highly recommend getting to the place when it's still bright outside as it is really high in the mountains. Be prepared for a walk to the villa through the vineyards by stone steps. People who own the place live there and they are nice. They met us in the late evening, warmed up food for us, and served the table. In the morning, we had breakfast on a terrace with a perfect view.

Unique location in old, small village, traditional house which is well decorated, kitchen available (owner had bought things for me to cook pasta, owner friendly / good company and flexible, quiet and private place, nature around, slept very well here
