What a lovely hotel, all staff were very friendly, room was great size, bed comfortable. We stayed on 4th floor, this was fine for us but elevator only goes to 3rd floor, so request lower floors if can't do stairs. Access to breakfast is also from 4th floor. Breakfast is amazing however as everyone has commented, flies are very annoying although they do their best to try and lessen this. We sat outside in Lemon Grove most evenings after dinner and it was a lovely quiet spot.

A Spectacular Sea of Colour

Although one of Italy’s smallest regions, Liguria punches well above its weight for incredible scenery. Its coastline stretching from the French border to the port of La Spezia is lined with brightly coloured houses, including those spectacularly hugging cliffs in the Cinque Terre villages.

Equally impressive is Portofino harbour, one of the most beautiful in Italy. In a country that counts Venice, Sorrento and Capri amongst its harbour towns, that’s quite some accolade. Next door Rapallo has a long promenade watched over by a castle.

Levanto’s promenade is supported by pillars on the beach below and overlooks mountains descending into the Mediterranean Sea. Portovenere at the tip of a peninsula has a Gothic church on a rocky outcrop.

The Liguria capital is Genoa, Italy’s busiest port and home to one of Europe’s largest Old Towns. Varazze to the west has a sweeping beach, as does Alassio – 2 resorts with lots of Liguria hotels on the beach on Booking.com. A fortress guards the entrance to Savona harbour, while Albenga has medieval spires and cobbled streets.

Small and very well functioning hotel. The rooms are not too spacious, but when you come for sunbathing on the beach, you usually don’t pay attention to the size of your room. We had the window to the street. It was busy through the day, but it didn’t bother us, because the AC worked very well and the windows isolated the noice quite well. The hotel has its own sandy beach and the guests are offered free tanning beds throughout the stay. The beach area of the hotel is very well organised. Pools, bars, even the animator for the kids. It felt like the hotel is very well prepared to take away all the little headaches of their customers and it was extremely nice. To those who understand, the hotel serves illy coffee for continental breakfast! They even have illy coffee machines in the rooms too!Other than that, rich and delicious breakfast with the sea view and extremely nice staff made our stay.

Great building , street views , lack of food , only focacia all around the place , public transport fantastic but feels like through Africa , coffe is great , no shadows to hide from summer sun , very hot and humid during June , Around the building there were coffee shops, drinks, and food stalls, so nothing was missing, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.Bad smell in the closed neighborhood alleys, maybe ammonia, maybe another smell?

Great base to explore Cinque Terre and other surrounding...

Great base to explore Cinque Terre and other surrounding beach towns. La Spezia is a pretty town with lots of restaurants and shopping. It provides easy access via bus, train and ferry to the surrounding areas. Accommodations are much more reasonably priced than in Cinque Terre villages. It is flat and easy to navigate whereas some of the villages can be quite challenging for anyone with mobility issues due to steepness.

It is the perfect town to stay in when visiting Cinque Terre. Great food, beach, cute and quaint. Took a ferry to visit all the other villages and had a wonderful time. So glad we chose Monterosso to stay. The others were kinda dirty, busy, party type areas and not our style. This one was perfect!

By far I think it is one of the most beautiful cities, I've visited. I loved the architecture, the flowers, the fact that it provides easy access for wheelchair dependent people. And yes the flowers, the cacti, the palm trees,its kind, friendly and helpful people, the coffee and the food. And the old town is some magical place. I felt like I was living in a beautiful postcard.

Sadly our boat trip to Cinque Terre was cancelled. I would liked to have stayed longer and done that and spent more time around Santa Margherita. I feel I would also have liked to go to the beach. At least 3 to 4 days minimum.

Stay in the villages to truly appreciate Cinque Terre. Riomaggiore is so special in the morning and at night after the day trippers have gone. The 2 1/2 hour boat tour (Getaway Boat Tours) was the highlight of our time there. We also swam at the little beach area past the ferry landing. It was rocky but the water was perfect. Our host was able to get us set up with the Rio Tourist Card which allowed access to the Via dell'amore trail without a time reservation. I wish we had been able to stay longer and could have taken more time to hike between the other villages.

Lovely historic town with lots of great restaurants.

Lovely historic town with lots of great restaurants. Train service to other towns is very good value and easy to use so it's a great base to explore the whole coast from Portofino to the Qinque Terre.

Great place, definitely worth to stop by!

Great place, definitely worth to stop by! Beautiful beaches with good waves (at least when we were there), old town and the castles are nice to visit, very friendly people and coincidentally there was a cool climbing festival in the town while we were there!

Beautiful, charming beachside community.

Beautiful, charming beachside community. The boardwalk is fun and walks right into the town with many shops and restaurants. We took a tour of the botanical gardens, walked to Laigueglia for lunch & shopping, and had our favorite dinner at Ristorante La Vigna - Alassio
