Words are not enough to express how satisfied I was with the stay at Hotel Casanova. The position of the hotel is perfect as it's just outside the center of Padova, and right near the Train and Bus station, making day trips to surrounding areas a breeze! The room was cozy, comfortable, clean and well equipped, and the bathroom was splendid in both cleanliness and size! Mattia is a very loving and caring man, I've never felt more welcome at a hotel than I have here, he does an amazing job making sure everything is running well, and you are having a great stay! Grazie Mattia, this hotel is awesome!!

I had a great one-night stay. The hotel has been beautifully renovated, with well-furnished, comfortable rooms and a newly renovated, very spacious bathroom. Everything was spotless and well maintained, the room was exceptionally quiet, making for a very relaxing night's sleep. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of major attractions such as Prato della Valle's square and the Basilica of Saint Anthony. The host was welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. I'd happily stay here again!

Location is great! Easy reach from main train station by tram or even walk. Close to the Scrovegni Chapel - Giotto art work, and to historical center. Extremally friendly staff that exceeded my expectations. Big food store "PAM" in 5 minutes walk. Nescafé coffee machine in the room. Very nice light in the room.

FAQs about hotels in Padova

Academic and Artistic Greatness

An artistic gem, Padua (or Padova in Italian) seamlessly combines awe-inspiring heritage and a modern vibe. Counting Galileo among its former tutors, the University has the world’s oldest UNESCO World Heritage-listed botanical garden.

Across the road is huge Prato della Valle, a green square with a canal lined by 78 statues, and home to a Saturday market. A market is also held in squares near to Palazzo della Ragione whose multi-levelled arches and vaulted wooden ceiling are an impressive sight. Cobbled, porticoed streets lead to the finely-crafted Gran Loggia and clock tower.

Every church has incredible décor, but the most famous is Saint Anthony of Padua, boasting the bones of the saint, an impressive 7 cupolas and 4 cloisters. The square in front has a statue by Donatello. Padua Cathedral's simple exterior houses amazing frescoes inside the baptistery by Giotto, creator of the jewel in Padua’s crown – the Scrovegni Chapel. His 14th century frescoes there have been meticulously restored to be as vibrant as the day they were painted.

The closest airport is Venice Marco Polo, but before you head there from your Padua hotel, apartment or B&B take time to enjoy the narrow streets around Palazzo del Bò or the Jewish district.

Padova is a lovely city with some incredible buildings. St Anthony's Basilica is a huge and inspiring church and, if you don't like this Basilica - there's another one right around the corner. The City has a large, impressive elliptical plaza and some smart shopping streets. The Giotta murals in the Scrovegni Chapel are superb.

We had booked a tour guide through Cool destinations which is tied up with Viator. The guide didn’t turn up. Apparently the tour had been cancelled but nobody told us. The second cancelled tour with Cool destinations. Just a third party ticket clipper. I’d never use them again. Luckily our get your guide entry to the Giotto frescoes and chapel worked perfectly

We really enjoyed strolling through Prato della Valle and Saturday early market. it's a beautiful open space that's perfect for chilling. We also loved visiting Orto Botanico di Padova, which was peaceful and interesting. The historic centre was lovely to wander around. We enjoyed eating at local pizzerias and cafés in the city centre. There were plenty of options with outdoor seating including Proto Romani and we also stopped for gelato most afternoons. Getting around Padova was very easy to get around. The city centre is very walkable, and the tram and buses made it simple to reach places that were a little farther away. We found we didn't need a car for most of our stay although little challenges with Italian language as i wasnt so fluent

Padova is a great place with lovely Piazzas, restaurants, cultural spots and more. All of them within a short walking distance from this convenient hotel. We really felt at home. Ms. Alexandrina was of great help, not only recommended a nice restaurant but also she organized a taxi to help us get our rented car which was damaged in a small accident. The four of us are eager to come back.

Apartment, service, position as you could wish for, all for 10. Mr. PRIMO, the owner of the apartment, is a person who will stay in your heart forever. Hospitable, always at hand, with information for the city of Padua and Italy in general. You have all the comfort of your own home in the apartment. One thing is for sure, we are happy to return to Padova and the same apartment.

The location of the hotel is very central, one minute walk from Prato della Valle, so you can reach all main spots in Padova on foot. It has parking places around the building which is very convenient. It is a good choice for a short stay and if you need it only for sleepover and shower.
