We had an amazing stay! The hotel is super clean, very comfortable, and everything was spotless. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful – you really can’t ask for more. We were a group of six girls and felt completely satisfied with our stay. Everything was just perfect, and you can tell that a lot of thought went into every little detail. Truly wonderful – highly recommended!

Great position, eating meal with beautiful views on the sea, swimming pool, great comunication and helpful on recepcion also in restaurant, great beds, clean room every day. Hotel is next church garden with many Lemon trees, so all around smelling beautiful on spring, way to the beach. We were very much satisfy, thank you.

January is a quiet time of the year to visit. It makes driving around and parking much easier, although there are not many restaurants open at this time of the year. The marina and port is lovely to walk around and then to sit and have a drink. There is a walk-way along the front of the restaurants down by the sea. It was lovely walking along and watching the waves roll in. There was one restaurant open, it looked very nice, but we did not want to eat lunch time. You can walk up the steep steps, that take you to the top of the main square. You need to be fit and mobile to tackle them. We sat and had drinks and cakes, as there were a few places open. The streets are cobbled, so good footwear is essential. There are several look outs from the top. One spot overlooks the beach and the Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell 'Isola (which was closed), but well worth the look if you go when it is open. There is a small market on a Saturday morning, which was up by the Cemetery.

For a winter stop over that’s restful and self sufficient a good location. Town delightful with good free musical events for Christmas Weather was perfect though turning cold at night It WAS December ! Warning about steps to access the location. Difficult with luggage. Might want to try the much longer road route if mobility is an issue.

It is a very picturesque town, and it is easy to visit the top spots. Take a slow walk down the cliff from the town to the beach. The sand is fine and the water is a clear blue. Go up to the monastery and take photos of the coast. Just spend some time walking down the narrow streets and alleyways. We went in the offseason and didn't get a chance to visit Stromboli, the volcanic island. That should be a highlight and something we will do next time.

We loved the choice of beaches and the crystal clear sea, we could see fish swimming within touching distance of us. When its really hot, there is plenty of shady beach areas if wanted. The old town was amazing to see from the beach underneath, the way its been built on the cliff. Good choice of restaurants and bars.

I loved the views and the variety of spots to relax from...

I loved the views and the variety of spots to relax from high up in town to down close to the sea. The wind and cooler temperatures stopped us from entering the water however, as the sea temperature is still quite temperate there were many swimmers early October.

The beaches were amazing.

The beaches were amazing. Places we ate that I recommend, That's Amore, great food and lots of ambiance, Diamante Rosso, Pinturicchio has great fish dishes and the best gelato was at Gelati Tonino.

INCREDIBLE! On our way to Tropea we had a big airport delay and we missed our train. The accomodation went out of their way to arrange a driver for us at 1am in the morning! They also stayed away and kept messaging us on WhatsApp to make sure we arrived safely — they were up messaging us until 3am! We could not believe how amazing this place was. They were so supportive and helpful. The breakfast is the best we had in Italy and the location of the property is the BEST. You must book here if you come to Tropea!!

This is our second visit to Don Carlo and it definitely won’t be our last! We absolutely love the central location, amazing hosts, comfortable modern furnishings and the delicious freshly cooked breakfast on the terrace! Huge thank you to Karina for all the recommendations for food, ice cream and drinks in the area! The avocado toast was especially delicious and the freshly baked croissants with Pistachio - best breakfast in Italy so far! See you again next year, hopefully for longer this time! ❤️

We had a fantastic stay in Tropea! The apartment was clean, spacious, and very well located — just a short walk from the beach and the historic center. The host was kind, helpful, and always quick to respond. The terrace was a wonderful bonus — perfect for morning coffee or evening wine with a beautiful view. Everything we needed was provided. Highly recommended for families looking for a relaxing getaway in one of the most beautiful places in Italy. Thank you for a great stay!

We loved everything. The property is modern and very stylish. The property is central to all the restaurants and town centre. It is a 10 minute walk from the train station. We have been travelling in Italy for 4 weeks and this was the very best breakfast. Fresh fruit, scrambled or fried eggs and bacon, homemade cakes, yoghurt, cereal and more. All this was served on the roof terrace with sea views. Mariana is so very friendly and helpful.

This reservation was made for our friends. This is their opinion: Great location near to the center of Tropea. It's a good base to discover Calabria. We had a nice apartment in the lovely garden. Stores, restaurants are near. Clean, nicely decoreted hotel. The price was reasonable.
