A wonderfully clean and comfortable house in the seaside town of Toyako, near Lake Toya. Downstairs is the living room, a fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom, separate toilet, and a lovely tatami room. There are two beds upstairs. Parking is also available. The location was also convenient to explore the surrounding area of Noboribetsu and Lake Toya. There's a convenience store down the road, and it's close to the station. The host is very gracious, and even though we couldn't speak Japanese, Google translate works well.

Simply amazing This is such an amazing place. People kept telling me that I had to go to the cable car and the viewpoints around Lake Toya, but honestly, I think that’s a waste of time. Just stay at the hotel and enjoy it. The views from the Windsor are absolutely incredible, and the hotel itself is such a beautiful and relaxing place. There is something special about simply sitting back, enjoying the view and taking in the surroundings. For me, the hotel was the destination — not just a place to stay while visiting Lake Toya. I would happily come back just to spend more time here.

We had a nice room facing the lake & the Singaporean owners upgraded us to a room with tatami seats. It has a in-house onsen, therefore I never showered in my room. My mom was happy that there’s someone to speak Cantonese with her in Japan. My first night happened to be the Summer Festa at Lake Toya & so we watched the fireworks with the accompanying stage band. On the second night, the owners treated me with a few rounds of Scotch whisky. On the day we departed, we were given a delicious cheesecake as a goodbye gift. This affirmed my belief that traveling wasn’t taking great photos but making great connections with people.

Lovely little space with all the right amenities! We were very comfortable, it had everything we needed to cook breakfast, was easy to check in to and great value for the price. It snowed while we were there - adding to the ambience, and we picked up firefighters and wood from a local store to make a fire in the fire pit provided!
