A hidden gem in all of Hakone. We were welcomed by a modern adaptation of a traditional Japanese home. The hotel felt more like a home than a hotel facility, and all the automation around the bathrooms and lighting made everything ease in much easily. For us, everything was as clean as it gets. Spare towels were also provided, but the property is keen to help whenever needed. The balcony and garden made us enjoy early morning coffees and late night snacks in peace and silence. The double beds act more like one, and they are as comfortable as it gets. All of the appliances, from AC to the automated bathtub work perfectly, and the provided washing machine can come in handy. The neighborhood was very silent, as it is close to the end of the region. Being further away from the main areas is not a problem, as the famous Venetian Glass Museum ca be reached by foot in 20 minutes and there are plenty of bus connections available. Finally, the hotel provided numerous restaurant options nearby and the ones we tried were really great! The place is a must stay for couples, and we are looking forward to coming back to it in the future.

Beautiful hotel, conveniently located next to the bus stop. The room was very spacious and the private onsen an true highlight. Staff was super friendly and helpful - we forgot our earphones and they sent it to our next hotel immediately.

The hotel is absolutely perfect - we regretted staying only for one night. The rooms are super private, sometimes it feels like you are the only guests in the hotel. Private onsen is a pure luxury. The rooms are basically like 1 bedroom villa, super spacious, modern, comfortable and clean. The aesthetics of the hotel is beautiful: modern and minimalistic design blending with nature. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and memorable. Japanese hospitality is unmatched - we felt super welcome and the service was outstanding. Hakone is a beautiful area worth exploring - there are amazing museums also just around the corner from the hotel.

Lake Ashi was beautiful... and we lucked out, despite the...

Lake Ashi was beautiful... and we lucked out, despite the cloud cover most of the time, and were able to see the top of Mt. Fuji when we took one of the sight seeing schooners. Also, it's a very quick getaway from Tokyo - 35 min. from Tokyo Station to Odawara! Then about an hour's shuttle to the Lake and hotel.

The experience of using the Hakone Free Pass was excellent...

The experience of using the Hakone Free Pass was excellent as it enabled us to visit all key destinations in comfort, in our own time. There was a great variety of destinations. I especially loved the Hakone Open Air Museum and the Pola Museum as well as the Ropeway over the volcano and down to the Lake.

We curated our plan well for efficiency and everything went smoothly. Our favorite spot was the Hakone Open Air Museum. But we loved every place that we went to - Owakudani, Lake Ashi, Hakone Shrine. In fact, on our last day, we went back to Owakudani to see Mt. Fuji because on our first day, it was cloudy. That ropeway ride was breathtaking! We had egg ice cream - so creamy. Of course, the black eggs! We had not just one, but two pieces of it! And brought home four pieces more! I plan of going back to see more of Hakone!

My injury due to a fault door at entrance resulted in a very painful large bruise. No medical help or any help. Scary when one is in a foreign country. We didnt walk around due to my pain following the injury.

Loved the Ryokan experience, meal was very good. Staff lovely especially the young lady that looked after us and served us our meals. Facility needs a bit of renovations but always keeping the Ryokan experience going.

Hakone is easy to get around, it's only a small village.

Hakone is easy to get around, it's only a small village. The river is gorgeous and the air is crisp and clean. There are plenty of shops along the high street. There seemed to be lots of places to eat, but they mostly closed fairly early. We had and exeptional pizza at 808 Monsmare but get there early - they open at 5pm and there are queues from about 4.30pm - trust me it's worth the wait!!

The different options for onsen were great.we enjoyed the foot bath and the private onsen. There was a good range of snacks and drinks options. We took the half board options, which gave us good food and rest after a busy day at Gotemba premium outlet. The dinner had 1 small ala carte with a full buffet, inclusive of beer and umeshu. It was great. At check out, the hotel arranged for our luggage to be picked up and sent down to Hakone Yumoto station-leaving us to enjoy Hakone till almost 4pm.

This was an amazing stay. We came here after Tokyo and was a great place to relax and unwind. We got free socks on arrival too. The onsen was also great to use after a long day. The rooms were spacious and so relaxing. We were also able to get the bus from just outside the hotel to the destinations we wanted to go to. Lake Ashi was about a 30 minute bus ride and was about a 40 minute ride to the train station. Would recommend here to anyone that wants to go to Hakone.

We booked the Japanese style room with dinner and breakfast included, and it was a fantastic experience. The Onsen was great, and a fantastic end to a day of exploring. Despite being a common bath open to all guests, we never had to share it with more than one person. The hotel is a 15min walk from Hakone Yumoto station, perfect to start the Hakone loop. They have a free shuttle bus service.

We had a lovely stay at the Fujiya Hotel. The hotel has a unique historic charm, with beautiful architecture blending traditional Japanese and Western styles. The atmosphere is elegant and peaceful, especially in its Hakone setting. The onsen experience was very enjoyable and not crowded. Breakfast was good, and overall service was decent.
