Good meal for breakfast, close to Hakone shrine and ports to take Sight-Seeing Ship. Lawson and nearby restaurants have some good choose for your dinner and lunch, but most of all are end their operation as normal, please go for meal earlier.

Brilliant location, so close to Hakone Station, and was handy as we could store our bags under the stairs. Room was big with lovely comfortable futons. Had Nescafé pods and coffee machine which was great.

In my opinion, this is a very pleasant accommodation. It is well equipped, so it could also be a great choice for a longer stay. We arrived early and wanted to leave our luggage under the stairs, but one of the staff members informed us that our room had already been cleaned and that we could use it right away. This was around 11:00, which was a very kind and helpful gesture. Check-in and check-out are handled online, which is very convenient. The website also provides a lot of useful additional information. There is a fantastic place very close by, which I highly recommend: Chobi Yakitori. :) The hill mentioned by many guests really does exist, and you do have to conquer it to reach the accommodation, but it is not a big challenge. Overall, this is a very good choice.

It exceeded my expectations. Great value to experience a ryokan with an onsen. The staff was very nice and hospitable. Having no shower area in our rooms made it feel more like a traditional experience for my friends so everyone had to go to the onsen.

We had a two bedroom apartment which is very spacious and got lovely view. Onsen facilities are executable and cosy. It is only less than 10 minutes walk to the funicular up to the cable car or down to the Gora town.

Very spacious, clean and great facilities. Bedding and towels were clean and plentiful. Yukata’s and slippers were provided for use indoors. The onsen was great and each time I used it there was no one else in there so was very relaxing ☺️ It was a short walk up a steep hill from the train station but nothing to much our 5 year old grandson managed it fine. Lovely views over the mountains from our apartment windows.

The room is very clean and comfortable. The view inside the room and around the hotel is splendid! I love the environment very much. Breakfast was good, we stayed two nights, and two mornings breakfast were different, both were delicious.

Excellent location close to the ropeway, and breathtaking Mount Fuji views! Onsen was fantastic. 100% recommend it.

A lovely hotel with helpful and mostly efficient staff. We upgraded our room and got a room facing the lake and Mt Fuji. So special. Onson was good. Did not use the restaurants. Courtesy bus to and from Owafara was excellent. Forwarded our luggage from here, was waiting for us at our Tokyo hotel.

Onsen was spectacular. The property was stunning and the food was top tier! Staff was amazing and so helpful with our needs.

The guests were so friendly, welcoming and accomodating. The facility was super clean and in a great location. We instantly felt very relaxed when we arrived and didn’t want to leave. The private Onsen was beautiful, as was the provided breakfast. I would highly recommend. It felt very homey and traditional. The restaurant Box Burger down stairs was also delicious!! We loved our stay at Hakonowa.

A special treat hotel, we loved the roof top spa, room is an absolute haven during a very busy trip. This was definitely the "treat" hotel.

I had a wonderful stay here a month ago. The location is excellent and very convenient. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming and always ready to help. They spoke English, which made everything much easier for me and they patiently helped me understand everything I needed. One of my favorite parts was the private onsen, which could be reserved for a convenient time. It was peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommended!

Location is super convenient and easy to find!! The view from the window was very nice, peacefully looking at the stream and greeny. The room is small but it's very clean. The standing shower room is small but good enough for a shower. We didn't have problem with the water pressure or temperature. Wifi worked pretty well if you connected to 5G, the house rules book only told you I connect regular one and didn't say 5G. Look at the Wifi info at the wall board next to the room entrance.

The location was amazing, with a nice view to both the river and the mountain. The big tub in our room was well worth the money and sitting outside in 5 degree weather while soaking in warm water was fantastic. Ameneties are 12/10, with a huge variety of both cold and warm drinks, and private onsens that did not require reservation or payment

Staff --> Excellent and very helpful. One of the ladies at the checkout (apologies forgot her name), she was really good and spoke good English. Breakfast --> We took breakfast included in the package, and that was the highlight, the vegetable juice (best ever), corn soup, the hot spring eggs, the sausages and so on all were so tasty. Onsen --> Felt refreshed, rejuvenated, and relaxed. I highly recommend it. Others --> Shuttle bus use it if required. We also tried the massage, and it was the best, highly recommend.
