Well situated in the Chuo Ward district of Kobe, Kobe Luminous Hotel Sannnomiya is situated 25 km from Mt. Rokko, 22 km from Mount Maya and 1.5 km from Kobe Port Tower. I loved that it was perfectly located walking distance from the main shopping strip. The room was big and the beds were full size and comfortable, all four of us slept great!! The rooms were very clean and simple, they looked new, smelled fresh and no old moldy, Smokey smell. The room also came with a huge TV that had Netflix accessibility. We loved our room and will definitely look forward to returning!

Hotel La Suite Kobe Harborland, remm plus Kobe Sannomiya and Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel have received great reviews from travellers in Kobe regarding the views from their hotel rooms.
I recommend Arima Onsen. It is a charming, mountain hot spring town. It is easily accessible from downtown Kobe; in fact, one could hike there (over the mountains), which would be the best way to get there, provided one has time. Above all, the washoku (Japanese cuisine) there is simple, but wonderful. You can get local craft beer on tap as well. Finally, head for the Tokyu Resort Hotel and then start up the mountain. Within one to one and a half hours, you will be on top of Mt. Rokko. The views in all directions are superb.
Arima Onsen is a charming little hot spring town full of narrow alleyways and winding streets. This unit was located on just such a street; you will love it, and feel that you are part of the town, not a tourist isolated in an antiseptic hotel . Cafe de Beau was wonderful as well. Try a locally brewed beer in one of the cafes, too Also, try to go during November, when the leaves are changing color... and bring hiking shoes. (Walk to the top of Mt. Rokko from Arima Onsen; it is a fabulous hike.)
One of the best trips we had just recently. It was a short one but we had a great time. Visited Harbor land, spent a walk around down town and it was so attractive. Will surely come back here again next time.
Kobe beef is the obvious attraction here, but just be warned that the cut of the steak matters as much as the quality of the beef. Quality beef but non-quality part will not greatly improve your meal experience, but yet cost you a heft sum. Himeji Castle is in the neighbouring Himeji town and great to explore, about 1 hour's train ride from Kobe.
Kobe is a modern city with good citizens and tasty cuisine. You may find many unique buildings in Kobe since it is the first five ports where the Japanese government opens to foreign. So you could see the history footprint of the different foreigners. And I also recommend visiting the Maya Mt. or Rokko Mt. for the city night view. And yes, you should try out the Kobe beef steak!
If you dont like crowds, kobe is the place to go. Really quiet place with good variety of restaurants. Not much to see, but lots of kobe beef restaurants. Must try. Really close to kansai airport, himeji castle and about an hour travel to kyoto and osaka.
Very unusual hotel with reception near the top instead of the bottom floor. Wonderful views from both the dining area as well as from the onsen - the ever present mountains on one side and city panorama on the other. We also had an actual view from our room, which is rare in Japan. The place has all necessary amenities, staff are nice and helpful, breakfasts are delicious with great variety. Onsen is very pleasant with both an indoor and outdoor baths that are both so big you could almost swim in them (but you shouldn't;)).
Great location for the hotel. The room size is considerably not too bad for Japanese standard. It’s clean and tidy. For breakfast you could order 1 out of 4 choice. It was tasty. We also had a car so we reserved a space up front on site. The extra cost is 1500 yen a night during the stay (from check in time to check out at 1000). We had to leave the car till 1400 so we paid extra 300 yen for 4 hours.
Kobe
The hotel itself was so beautiful with an old historical bath-house feel. The grounds were lovely, the Japanese-style rooms were spacious and stylish, and the hot springs on the basement level were relaxing, clean and well-stocked with towels, lockers and amenities. The staff were also wonderfully accommodating to our needs and were unfailingly friendly and polite.
The staff were extremely helpful in helping us to plan our travel to the onsen, and were very welcoming once we arrived. The free shuttle bus from the train and bus stations to the onsen was a great service. The private baths were beautiful and very enjoyable. The Japanese style rooms and food was a very new experience, but well worth the venture.
Kobe
What a cute little guesthouse this is! Great location, easy walk to the subway. The hostel is small but has everything you need, especially for that price you couldn't get it better in Japan. Lovely quiet rooftop as well, if you like a read in the sun. Staff is friendly and informative. Beds are comfortable
The bed was relatively big for Japanese standards. Good coin laundry service which can be followed with a tablet in your room. The room was very clean. Location was really close to station Sannomiya (also easy accessible from Shin Kobe). An excellent start for a himeji day trip.
Kobe
1. Friendly staff 2. Not outside foot ware into hotel hence hotel relatively clean. 3. Yummy ryokan dinner for 1 of the night (very expensive but worth it) 4. Very local Japanese bfast (some may not be use to the style) 5. Nice outdoor onsen
The hotel is within a 5-10 min walk from the JR station, and along the way are many restaurants and convenient stores. The complementary Japanese breakfast is one of the best we've ever had. Laundry machine is available in the lobby.
Perfect view from the city side. Good breakfast. Very clean. Quite big rooms for the hotel in Japan. Supermarket inside the hotel building. Very close to the Skytrain station and Convention Center
We left our iPad in the room before leaving Japan. Contacted the hotel and the staff members were very helpful and facilitated the whole process to have our iPad mailed back to us.
Excellent hotel. Location perfect. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Very nice room and big for Japan. Good breakfast
Perfect for quick stay in Kobe. Clean, comfortable and everything one would expect from Japanese hotel room.
dont worry if you cant speak japanese, the receptionist can speak english
Great and It was plenty of wood with Japanese and western style.
The rooms were kept very clean. They have an eco-friendly policy and you do not have to change your sheets everyday. They provide charging cords which was great for me because I forgot to bring my charger. The staff are very kind an polite. For the price of the rooms, I was very surprised to get a buffet breakfast.

It was close to what I wanted to see and the local food was great! It was all I needed in a room a bed and a bathroom worked well for me.
Staff was amazing and attentive from entering the hotel premises. The rooms are very clean with a beautiful view of the harbour, the bathtub was huge! Loved that there were real beds and also futons if we wanted to have it made, great to have both options. The restaurant inside the hotel was amazing for dinner, we had tenpenyakki and set menu the best wagyu beef yum! Even though we stayed during COVID19, some of the facilities were closed but we still enjoyed our stay.
Excellent room service Nice bathroom supplies Cozy beds
Excellent choice of breakfast. Loved the location, right opposite the Monorail onto the island. Lovely walk in the "Park area" under the Monorail. Great Art exhibition next to hotel
