setting was great, breakfasts were really good with a wide variety on display. Room was large and spacious. location was ideal as there were a number of local restaurants nearby. the meal we had on our first night was absolutely fantastic

This venue was beyond my expectations. The room was large … the facilities spotless.. the service very polite and discreet. It was a wonderful place to stay. The included breakfast was excellent. Lots of variety. The room was very large by japanese standards. The spa on the balcony was a pleasure to use.

What I love about Okinawa, and more so Onna is that it's not...

What I love about Okinawa, and more so Onna is that it's not as busy crazy with tourist unlike the 'typical Japan hotspots' like Tokyo, Kyoto etc. Perfect balance of things to do, great eateries.

We loved Onna!

We loved Onna! You’re right in the middle between Naha and the Aquarium. We used to go to a nearby beach called Kibougaoka Beach — mostly locals (but nver more than 10 people), and it was absolutely magical. So beautiful! YOU NEED TO RENT A CAR!

A gorgeous spot with plenty of local restaurants to enjoy.

A gorgeous spot with plenty of local restaurants to enjoy. Beaches on your doorstop and other attractions such as pottery village only a short drive away. I really made use of the hire car for trips out of Onna, but a few days could be enjoyed in the town by walking.

Onna was disappointing.

Onna was disappointing. A long way from Naha airport although well serviced by airport limousine bus on our way in. There were no busses on the return to Naha from the resort for an early flight out, so needed to pay taxi which was expensive. Weather was a bit indifferent - had expected something more of a pacific island climate. Other than resort (Sheraton which was very limited in choice for meals), there were limited evening eating places. Those that were available were 30minute walk away from the resort, some reasonably ok, others not so. Would recommend Jam for dinner - booking essential - worth the money

The beach and area were good.

The beach and area were good. It was disappointing that we had to pay extra for beach chairs and umbrella, and there were also fees to use their facilities, such as: gym, tennis court, public bath, etc. the buffet was okay, we only had an option for one restaurant, the other was closed, so we were limited on where we could eat at the resort. Also, if u want to watch the sunset by the bar, u had to pay for a drink. The resort was old, and some areas were much needed of a renovation

Onna is located approximately half way between the northern...

Onna is located approximately half way between the northern tip and Naha in the south. It is a smaller town and has bus routes through it. It has quite a few restaurants and some are quite expensive but apparently worth it, we recommend the Tacorice restaurant, but note: parking is further down behind a building! They have nice meals and there is a party table at the rear which would be great for large groups so book perhaps. Price is great too! A car is preferable so can access the conbinis in the area with more ease. Its definitely not Tokyo in that regard but we were there because of that - and had a car!

It was my second time visiting Nakamasou and I came back because I had enjoyed my first time so much. The rooms are stunning, spacious, ryokan-style and still modern with amazing views of Onna and the sea. It is very quiet and the hotel offers all amenities - a restaurant with great food and a fantastic staff, a public onsen and it's a short walk to the next village, although there is not much to do in the village - I recommend coming by rental car. One of the best places to stay in Okinawa.

Kenny and Komachi are wonderful hosts and made our trip to Okinawa unforgettable! Their friendliness, their passion for hosting, the communication in advance and on site, the fantastic breakfast ... unsurpassable and with a lot of love down to the smallest detail. We felt at home and were sad when our stay was over. We would definitely come back!

The location of the resort is very good. There is 7 eleven opposite the resorts. There are not many 7 eleven or Family mart in Onna village so having one right opposite the resort is a luxury. You cannot expect them to provide 5 star hotel service due to the low cost. But it is enough to give you a comfortable stay.
