"Naha is a great city, with lots of shops, bars and great places to eat. But to see Okinawa you need to hire a car and get around the island. driving is easy and road rage does not exist!! There are too many amazing beaches and place to mention but I would recommend the Motobu and Nakjin areas with castles, beaches the aquarium. Also Kouri Island is worth a trip. I would also got to Miyagi Island area."

"A real convenient area with lots of eating and touristy-shopping options. Too many restaurants to name along with multiple markets for those cooking your own meals. It's also near one of the expressway exits which makes it easy to access to and from the airport. It can get a bit crowded on event days which I experienced firsthand on Halloween, where crowds and traffic clogged the area. If you can, get to the waterfront area at sunset to experience some of the most beautiful scenes you'll experience while on the island."

"we went in rainy season (late may) so not the smartest of us. however the one sunny day we had we went to the beach and how wonderful. the beauty of okinawa especially up north is unparalleled and when you get to experience it firsthand it is breathtaking. i wish we could have gone to yanbaru! I recommend a couple things: -dye workshop at BOTANICA (indigo and natural dye of natural fibres clothing shawl bag or something you bring) run by a family near the Nakijin castle (also great recommendation) -Biking along the coast (its not for the faint hearted but its so rewarding) -nago museum (great history and natural history emphasizing unity of nature and people and cultural history of pre japan ryuku kingdom -okinawa soba! satchan soba is great, get the pork rib or sanmainiku -captain kangaroo hamburger for GIANT JUICY BURGER -fishing port teishoku restaurant for tuna or mixed fish don -hanhanmoomani korean restaurant in central nago, sosososos good and most friendly staff! -inno coffee shop -nago municipal market (grocery store and a delicious sweets store beside it) -ryujin shrine(osehara ryujin on google maps): stray cats supported by people and organizations in nago, hermit crabs with a shell shrine, the most peaceful a mystical area -hubcycle okinawa (bike rental, contact them because they say closed wednesday but they are actually open )"

"It left me speechless, fortunately it is still an unspoiled island that unlike Japan they should keep it a little cleaner because it deserves. You can turn it all around in the car and you can see places where there is no one. It was a really nice discovery, we would have been there for another 2/3 more days. It is connected with bridges to 3 smaller islands all to be discovered. I recommend activities such as snorkeling, dive and sup to see the splendid seabed with colorful fish, opulps, manta rays and sharks."

I did not enjoy Naha, it offers nothing but mediocre bars, restaurants and shops. The beaches around are nothing special in comparison to what the other islands offer. We did visit the American Village and enjoyed that a lot more. You can do some god excursions from Naha, however, I think one night max is plenty, if you have to stay but I recommend leaving asap and heading to another island or at least somewhere else on the island.

There's much to discover on the island. A perfect little getaway trip when the busy life takes over. 100% safe for solo female travellers and would absolutely recommend ladies to come here for a peaceful time-alone trip—plenty of stunning views to sit and have lunch or read.

I only stayed in my hotel because it was raining but i definitely wish I stayed longer (I was only there for one full day— the other two I travelled to and from my hotel) but I really wish I booked a longer stay. It’s not as busy as Naha or other popular areas so for me it was quiet and peaceful. I wish I could have visited some local attractions such as the pineapple park but unfortunately it rained on the day I wanted to go and I didn’t really feel like doing that in the rain. But I’d recommend 2-3 full days here!

Chatan is a lovely and vibrant place with a relaxed atmosphere. There are plenty of restaurants, cafés and shops, and the area around American Village is especially lively and enjoyable. Being close to the sea gives the town a wonderful coastal feel, making it a great place to stay and explore Okinawa.

We didn't see much of Motobu as such but it seems a nice place. There is the Aquarium and the Tropical Dream Center which are definitively big attractions. Some nice beaches but when we were it was raining.

I love this city.

I love this city. Unlike most cities I have been in, there is almost no trash to be found on the streets, anywhere! At no time did I ever feel unsafe, no matter where in the city I walked. The people are extremely polite and friendly. The food is absolutely amazing! I LOVE this place! You want the best places to eat, look for the small ones. You will not be disappointed with the food or prices!

I have dear friends living in Yomitan, this was an added bonus. Castle Rock is a vintage decorated restaurant, that's fun to be in. There is a wonderful variety on the menu to satisfy all guests.

Tomigusuku is a peaceful area near Naha Airport, perfect for a quiet stay away from the busy tourist spots. Senaga Island offers a clean, uncrowded beach with beautiful views and occasional rainbows. While the beach isn’t very developed for tourism, that also means fewer crowds. The area has a nice balance of nature, shopping, and local charm
