I had an amazing stay in Kuon Villa. The house was renovated with much love and combines old and new in a very stylish way. If you want to experience a traditional Japanese house but don’t want to miss out on modern comfort, this is the house for you. This was really one of my best stays in Japan. Spacious modern kitchen and eating area, very comfortable bed and nice Sauna and Bathroom. The highlights are the beautiful Tatami rooms that offer an amazing view into the surrounding Garden. I unfortunately only stayed for one night and spend most of my time sitting in the tatami room, drinking tea and looking at the beautiful Garden. The house also offers a lot of privacy as it is a bit on the edge of the village and has everything you need for a relaxed stay, from BBQ, deckchairs to entertainment system (Bluetooth box and projector). High quality amenities were also supplied. Washing machine and dryer are also available. The house is located in the countryside, I recommend buying supplies in one of the cities on the way. There are also some restaurants nearby. I came by car from Fukuyama which took about an hour and was a nice ride through the hills, I enjoyed staying away from the crowded big cities. The manager was very friendly and replied fast to any questions I had. I will be back for sure, next time for a longer stay.

The hotel was made to old warehouse or harbour building and made with the corresponding style thinking of every details. Easy walking distance from the railway station and close to ferry to start your bicycle trip. Staff at the reception was very friendly. We rented the bicycles through the hotel, we got quality bikes with instructions and hints where to go, excellent service. Breakfast was great, a buffee and warm options to order. Strong recommendation to stay in this hotel

Loved this hotel, it was one of my favourite places to stay in Japan. The room was very comfortable and clean, I could relax there. The overall aesthetic was a mix of Japanese and Scandinavian.

Location, room and staff were perfect. Breakfast and cafe were lovely! The attention to detail and atmosphere was calming and classy. Staff carried out bags down 100 stairs when we left. So kind.

Top notch service of staff who could speak English. Made us feel at home with customized service and a modern Ryokan feel. The views from the room was fabulous and we managed to catch the sunset and sunrise. Getting to the property is via the rope way but manageable if you just take a cab from the train station. Would stay there again.

The location was perfect for travellers. The breakfast was good. The best feature were the corner windows of our room. Watching the comings and goings of the trains was a treat for train buffs!
