Daiwa Roynet Hotel Yamagat hotel is by far the best I’ve ever stayed in. I initially booked it for just one night, but it turned out to be the best decision to extend my stay to two nights. The room is spacious, and so is the bathroom—the shower area is especially large, and I absolutely loved the rainfall shower. What really stood out was the complimentary toiletries: they even provide moisturizer, toner, and hair oil to name a few, the selections ar. The selection is impressive, right down to your coffee preferences. Wifi connections is strong everywhere you go. There are only two breakfast options, but each one feels like a smorgasbord. The portions are so generous that you might not even need lunch afterward. The hallways are also very clean and fresh—not overly perfumed, just a natural, clean, pleasant scent. We will definitely look for Daiwa Roynet Hotels properties every time I travel to Japan. The staff are all incredibly friendly.

Comfort Hotel Yamagata is the ideal location for staying in Yamagata city and exploring the area around - just a short walk from the station and the bus depot. We used it as a base for visiting Yamdera and Mount Zao. There are plenty of restaurants nearby too. It was a very short stay this time (just one night!) so no chance to explore the city itself (which I've done many times on previous trips anyway), but you are close to bus stops to take you into the city centre if you want to head that way. We used the coin op laundry for the first time and it was very efficient. The rooms are the typical smaller Japanese hotel rooms, but absolutely fine for what we needed. Very good value for money. The bus from Sakata dropped us just over the road, and there are frequent buses to other cities e.g. Sendai from the nearby bus station, plus of course Yamagata station is one of the stops for the Tsubasa shinkansen. Very easy access from Tokyo, Sendai etc. by rail.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location is unbeatable—right inside the station, making it incredibly convenient for travelers. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. What stood out the most was the thoughtful touch for families with children. My kids received complimentary items like sandals and toothbrushes, which made them feel special and added to the overall experience. The combination of a strategic location, great service, and family-friendly amenities makes this hotel an excellent choice. Highly recommended!
