Once called a “Paris of the Middle East”, Beirut is the Lebanese capital set alongside the Mediterranean seashore and flanked by the Lebanese Mountains. Severely destroyed during the Civil War, the city underwent major reconstruction and is now a vibrant place full of nightlife and shopping venues.
Beirut is often considered by many major media outlets to be one of the top cities in the world due to its cosmopolitan nature and commercial development. See it for yourself on Rue Verdun, the trendiest shopping area or the Central District, the city’s historical core, full of modern structures, dining venues and open public spaces.
Stroll down the tourists’ favourite, Hamra Street, featuring plenty of boutique shops, popular cafés and restaurants. Beirut is sometimes called the “Party Capital of the Arab World” so while you’re at it, dance the night off at the clubs at Rue Monnot.
For a bit of history mixed with upbeat nightlife, pay a visit to Achrafieh, one of the city’s oldest and most charming districts. Since Beirut has over 5,000 years of history, a visit to its National Museum and Archaeological Museum is a real treat.
Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport is only a 10-minute drive from the city centre and Booking.com offers a variety of hotels and apartments in Achrafieh and Hamra for your perfect Beirut stay.
Beirut has attracted very bad image on social media especially in the West. I am not a labanese neither an Arab but one thing you should be extremely careful when taking pictures or filming .Avoid military police do not take pic with them and Avoid filming in refugee camp .It can get you in a lot of trouble
Beirut is a fascinating city with a mixture of cultures, religions, food, and architectural styles. I felt very safe everywhere I walked in the city. Traffic is daunting (traffic rules are not followed) and I would not recommend driving. The economic situation in the country is unfortunately not good and things like electricity and infrastructure are in severe need of repair and updating. Be sure to take cash with you for your entire stay, you cannot take money out from an atm/bank (almost all places accept US dollars and many accept euros). Be careful when using your credit card, as some places tack on high fees and there is both an official and unofficial exchange rate (it is okay to use a credit card at most hotels, expensive restaurants, and some of the more expensive stores; always ask before using your credit card). The people of Beirut are very friendly and hospitable and there is so much to see. Be patient and open to new experiences and Beirut will certainly not disappoint!
Despite the unsanitary conditions, the heavy traffic and the scams of some taxi drivers who insist to charge you much more than it costs, Beirut deserves to be visited. The food and the people make it a friendly city. I highly recommend visiting the mountains of this country. They are beautiful and the weather is clement during the summer. See you very soon, Beirut.
Beautiful city with friendly people and safe to travel alone. Lots to see and do. Food to die for with lots of options for vegetarians and vegan. Easy access to travel to surrounding towns. Lots of places to see and great access to cultural events and shows. Will definitely visit again.
Beirut is an amazing place that is highly underrated among common travel destinations. The city has an incredibly rich history and cultural heritage to explore, as well as beautiful landscapes in close proximity. It is easy to move across the city by foot, but also with taxi or Uber for longer distances. Especially nice to visit are the areas with a sea view, where it's also possible to walk along the seaside for several miles, e.g. from the port to Raouche Rocks. There's a lot of great restaurants to eat amazing food, and I was especially surprised to find such an incredible amount of places that serve vegan food (some European cities could learn a lot in this matter). In addition to this there's an incredible hospitality and kindness among the people who live there, which makes it really easy to meet new people and get to know to city from an authentic perspective. In my opinion, Beirut is a hidden gem among travel destinations that is very misrepresented in Western media and does not get enough credit.
Beirut will never die. For me, it, not Rome, is the eternal city. Many improvements since my last visit. But sadly, it feels sometimes like one step forward & 2 or 3 backwards.. With a proper government, backed by a United population, it should no doubt regain all its previous glory.
The hotel is very pleasant. The location is great, you can visit all of Beirut from here. We were picked up from the airport and that worked out wonderfully. The room was large, very clean and the bathroom was also modern and well equipped. Wifi works very well. Every now and then there are power outages for a few moments but they are fixed immediately. Breakfast was perfect, a lot of choice and very tasty. We felt very safe and very well taken care of. A recommendable hotel.
The absolute best hotel . I traveled alone & they helped me with all my tours/transportation at good prices and always made sure i was okay . I enjoyed my stay in beirut all thanks to them . The hotel is very close to a lot of restaurants and supermarkets. The guys at the reception are so lovely & always ready to help. Also the rooms are even more beautiful than the pictures. Thank you hotel cavalier 💕 I will recommend everyone to stay here .
Regarding all what is happening in beirut and how prices differs from one hotel to another, they have maintained the best price with the same great services, the staff where very helpful and polite, cleaning was daily and great, amenities where available, near Hamra and Rawcheh, even they provided laundry and transportation services and i liked that they provide tours to everywhere in lebanon with private cars and affordable prices.
The hotel is at a very nice part of the city (Raouche). The building is new and well preserved. The rooms are large and well equipped, with comfortable bed. The personnel was very polite and always helpful for my inquiries, including for booking a taxi from/to the airport. The lobby and the common spaces at ground floor are comfortable and nicely decorated.
Raouche, Beirut
Rooms were large and spacious. Modern walk in shower. Cool rooftop bar. Good variety of food options at pool. Great salon on site which is great value $20 for blowdry - they were great! I am going to outline a list of concerns below but the hotel did apologise and offered us a few incentives when we flagged the below but it still did not make up for it all.
Loved the interior design. A property that has retained the spirit of old lebanese houses. Beautifully decorated. Location is great, if you are planing to stay in Jemayzeh area. As it is a walking distance to downtown, Mar Mikhael, Ashrafieh, Port of Beirut… Lot of bars and restaurants are around the place. The hotel is clean and surely met my expectations.
Hamra, Beirut
Staff was great, very welcoming and immediatly responding to the needs. Location is great, it is central to Hamra, Beirut. Suits are big and well eqipped. Internet was working perfectly most of the time. Hotel has a beautiful view, rooms are spatious, light and clean. You have a gym that is very decent...
- the staff are very welcoming - the facilities inside the room are complete ( refrigerator, oven, microwave, washing machine, ironing, hair dryer, kettle, flat screen TV) - the breakfast was very nice lebanon touch, provided on time. - the front door of the hotel is secured, open with your own key
Location. Close vicinity to Downtown Beirut and walking distance from Hamra and from Zaytunay Bay. Staff were very friendly. I want to thank the two from desk staff Mr. rahif and Mr. Kassem. Mr. Kassem helped me with all what I needed for arranging the late check out.
1- location was on the Hamrah road near all hops, coffee shops and shopping 2- hotel is clean 3- staff are friendly and courteous 4- the room rate was reasonable 5- easy to get taxis and Uber 6- nice views, you can see the sea from the roam
The hotel is brand new. It is close to the national museum of Beirut and close to the heart of the capital. The electricity is 24/7, which is a real advantage due to the current crisis in Lebanon. The room was clean.
Great location in Hamra, close to everything, most importantly the money changer that we found has the best rate (old guy with a small booth). Comfy room. the hotel also has a lovely bar downstairs. Friendly staffs
Exceptional service and great help from mr Mohamd Khalil. He represents the hotel and Beirut in the best possible way. Thank you!
The location of the hotel is near to downtown and the airport. The hotel is clean and stuff are very friendly
