Naypidaw is not an easy city to visit. It's 8 lane highways that are mostly empty and a lot of official buildings., the separation of the city into a hotel zone., versus the rest of the city and its vastness give it a bit of a ghost town feeling. There's not a lot to see in the city itself., but if you're on your way from Bagan to Yangon or from Inle to Bago it's worth a very short stop if you want to experience something weird and Orwellian and extremely clean in Myanmar.
If you do nit have work with the Government. Avoid to travel to Naypyitaw. Expensive taxis, hotels are all in Zine 1 away from offices, away from airport. Largest roads without traffic. The Pagoda was extraordinarily good to visit. Airport has few flights, generally deserted
Interesting city, starting to have more life to it these days and still looking impeccably clean and well taken care of. The local population are friendly to foreigners and very welcoming. Small selection of good restaurants and bars for the evenings, plenty to see and do in the daytime. Well worth setting aside a few days to visit the city and experience the capital of Myanmar.
Nay Pyi Taw is a new capital city of Myanmar. It's very beautiful city with large road where the boeing flight can landing. It's a disciplined city and you will excited and feel happiness once you see there made wonderful lotus flowers at the traffic point. There is many restaurante, you can eat at hotel or outside of hotel. Yes you can get around Nay Pyi Taw, there have wonderful and beautiful Water Fountain Park, National Race Museum, National People Garden along with beautiful lake and Buddha Gaya which is same BodhGaya India. This Nay Pyi Taw city like flower garden that they are decorated. Please visit Nay Pyi Taw I like to recommend you.
I love the hospitable and helpful people in Nay Pyi Taw. I felt safe even when I was travelling alone at night. The climate at night was very pleasant. However, most of the people could not speak English and halal restaurants were very limited. Things were not very cheap either. I would recommend Jasmin restaurant at Pyinmana that served boneless fish and many other HALAL dishes. Please also visit the Gem Museum; Army Museum, Fountain Park and Myoma Market. Capita Mall and Ocean Supercentre offee a good selection of food and shopping.
You don't miss anything if you haven't been here. Naypyidaw isn't a ghost town as often stated on blogs that probably haven't been here. There is a pagoda that isn't crowded and with a nice view over the surroundings so that's nice but you will probably have to take a taxi driver since the hotel zone is somewhat far away (and Taxis are quite expensive just to let you know). The water fountain parc is okayish but as for the city you haven't missed anything if you weren't here. There is also a local market that's nice. For a restaurant tip there is a cafe called dream coffee which also serves vegetarian food and the staff is really friendly and speaks good english. If you want to have a layover on the way to Mandalay then staying here is okay otherwise don't. Just my plain opinion.
