St Julian’s is a great base, we were between Sliema and...
St Julian’s is a great base, we were between Sliema and Balluta / Spinola bay, which was ideal. Sliema service various trips to Gozo and Comino and you can get a fishing boat or ferry across to Valetta. Buses run reasonably regular, and taxis are cheap. Marsaxlokk is a must and easy by taxi, then you can get a fishing boat to St Peter’s pool for a swim and snorkel. The blue grotto is also a must, but easier to travel by bus from the airport. We did this on our last day and left the luggage at the airport, which is really cheap and efficient. The promenade from Sliema to Spinola is beautiful and a lovely walk especially close to the Roman baths. Salt and pepper was a great restaurant on the front near Sliema, 2-4-1 cocktails and lovely seafood pasta dishes. Did not think the Greek restaurant Manakis was worth the expense, I’ve eaten much better Greek food at half the price, but the location is pretty. Fontanella tea room at Medina city is fabulous, we had the crepes and waffles. San Paolo Naufrago in Valetta on the steps is beautiful and the cocktails, pizza, and desserts are amazing. Lastly, I would recommend Apple’s Eye at Golden bay beach, the mussels were delicious and very reasonably priced for the location.

great nightclubs ( in paceville, would recommend Havana, Hugo rooftop, skyclub or Toyroom) the beach nearby (3 min away from apartment) is where everyone goes after nightclubs so it’s dirty +++ the streets at the end of the night are disgusting and smelly ( but there are cleaners afterwards so okay)Cabooter - Scored 4.04.0
St Julians is a dirty place to stay.
St Julians is a dirty place to stay. Its also noisy and smells bad. Dirty beaches and full of drunk young people. The only clean area is the area of marina with the luxury Hilton Hotel. If you go to Malta stay to Valletta. St Julians is only for teenagers and beach party.

St Julians is lovely but very close to Paceville which is ok but definitely a party place for the young. We are pensioners but still enjoyed some of the bars and it's an easy walk to a quieter area. Our hotel had excellent soundproofing so the late night revellers didn't disturb us. I would stay again as there was plenty to do there and the local transport is excellent

There is a lot of construction around St. Julian’s currently. I would stay where we stayed but Uber to Valletta as that area is much less confined by the current construction, which is excessive to be fair for a hot bed tourist area.DamienAustralia
