We chose the accommodation because of the swimming pool for our son. It was fine. We also took the opportunity to order food and drink to our room. The location was quiet and pleasant, right by the lake and yet close to the centre. On the last day we were able to leave our luggage stored at the reception until the evening.

We loved the house overall - it was clean, big, with all necessary facilities you'd find in your home. But my favorite part was the garden - it was beautiful and very well maintained. Get yourself some carbon and enjoy a nice bbq in wonderful scenery! Also a big plus for mosquito nets in every single room. And the owner was super kind and helpful

Two days are enough to experience the beautiful lake by this small town. We took a boat trip at the lake and a nice trip to the Gulf of Mexico. We got there from San Jose Tuxtla by a taxi for price of 25 mxp/person.

We are touring with a hire car and a flexible agenda so cut...

We are touring with a hire car and a flexible agenda so cut our trip to catemaco short by a day because we found the town to be dilapidated - very run down an dirty. Actually it was our first disappointment in 3 weeks of touring in Mexico. The one way system was a nightmare to negotiate because random streets were blocked off with rocks and rubble. The lake boat trip we wanted to take we moved from the Catemaco lake to the Reserva Ecológica Manglares del Toztlan and had a wonderful tour of the mangroves about 15km north of Catemaco. We saw ibises, iguanas, turtles, pelicans and it was idyllic with a super friendly and helpful boatman.

Close to the bus station, the lake and the centre of Catemaco. Clean and comfortable. It is good value for money and a convenient base to explore from. Well equipped kitchen. The owner is very friendly. Thank you for a great stay.
