We just stayed here overnight because it was on our way but this property seems like it would be a very cute place to come and stay with family, I would have loved the attic loft as a kid! Nice little kitchenette but didn't seem to have a fridge.

This house was surprisingly nicer than I thought it would be. It was in a very quiet neighborhood and the view outside is spectacular! The host welcome us in person and introduced the facility. It has everything we need. A morning hike with rainbow made us the day.

Great area for a weekend or just to break a long drive over...

Great area for a weekend or just to break a long drive over the mountains. Will definitely go back. Lovely thoughtful details, chairs and a rug by the waterside, a rowing boat to borrow, a sauna for after your swim in the glacialmelt water. Interesting hamlet with lots of buildings being restored.

The hotel's location is perfect.

The hotel's location is perfect. From the breakfast room you can see the fjord. We were lucky with the weather and it definitely enhanced the experience. Mirror-like water sparkling in the sun, snow high on the peaks. So beautiful!

Everything was perfect.

Everything was perfect. The hotel's location is absolutely ideal. Parking is available in front of the hotel. The staff, the kitchen, the breakfast buffet, and the facilities were all top-notch and very clean. We have absolutely nothing negative to say. Even our dog received a warm welcome.

Nygård Camping was a perfectly good place...a few km towards...

Nygård Camping was a perfectly good place...a few km towards Stryn we have a restaurant that had incredibly good homemade food and cozy premises. All the facilities that you find in Geiranger and Loen Skylift for example are not a long walk away.

Hjelle is an incredibly beautiful place to visit and the Old Shop at Hjelle is absolutely worth a visit. Beautiful natural surroundings and great historical descriptions of the houses along the river. Oppstrynsvatnet is very beautiful and you should take the time to walk in the beautiful garden at Hjelle hotel. Sit by the water and enjoy the view - there are chairs with blankets set out for visitors to do just that.

The cottage is okay But the furnishings were mediocre Chairs were rickety stools Little storage space Toilet was fine The showers are nice and warm for a fee I don't know if that is also stated on the site The Adventure campsites are no longer so Adventure very dated

Unique. Every road trip through Norway is worth making a detour here. Breathtaking views, free boat and kayak rental. The host was incredibly kind and showed us everything we needed to know. Far away from the usual tourist crowds. Everyone fell in love with this small, peaceful place – a hidden gem that leaves a lasting impression. Sadly we stayed only one Night. This was definitely not our last visit.

The property is perfect for one or two nights, close to a small supermarket and a perfect spot to start exploring Hjelle and surroundings or go hiking. The house itself was well contained and offered enough space for the four of us.
