Providing free WiFi throughout the property, Arthurs Pass Motel & Lodge is located in Arthur's Pass. This property is set a short distance from attractions such as Devils Punchbowl Falls. Accommodations were newer and central kitchen/tv room nicely appointed. Beds comfy and bright clean bathroom including a magnifying mirror.
Offering a garden and river view, The Nook is located in Arthur's Pass, a 16-minute walk from Arthur's Pass National Park and 1.5 miles from Devils Punchbowl Falls. The perfect blend of hide-away, helpful host, location and weather made this the absolute highlight of our stays in NZ. We got off the train to a perfect snow draped vista. A quick phone call saw out host drive down to pick us up, offer us a soup from her own freezer for dinner as the local cafe was closed, then leave us to our SUPER cosy, heated floor bedsit. Snow covered up the satellite, so the host allows use of her netflix account!! Awoke to a white wonderland. The bathroom was divine (once you realise the window fogs up quick so there is no need for a blind). I cannot say enough good things about the nook!!
Boasting a garden, The Loft at Bealey offers accommodations in Arthur's Pass with free WiFi and mountain views. Rochelle is a lovely host. The studio unit is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. I mistakenly left some food containers in the fridge and Rochelle was so helpful in ensuring we get those back 😊
Located in Otira, Rata Lodge Backpackers provides a garden. Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and a shared lounge, along with free WiFi throughout the property. The Rata Lodge Backpackers is a hidden little gem, at the entrance to Arthur's Pass going north. The Lodge is an old house with high ceilings, polished floors and country, rustic charm. The Lodge has 2 double rooms with ensuites and a room with 4 bunks and ensuite. The lounge and kitchen are cosy and well equipped. Everything is spotlessly clean and our lovely hosts Gerard and Vicki who are very friendly and accommodating, made us feel right at home. Very considerately, Vicki had the heater on in the lounge and the electric blanket on in our room, which was much appreciated. We only stayed one night, but would have gladly stayed longer if time permitted. Thank you Gerard and Vicki for your warmth and hospitality toward us.
Built in 1865 and restored in 1902, Otira Stagecoach Hotel is located in the heart of the Arthur's Pass National Park. It offers antiques throughout as well as stagecoaches and horse wagons outside. Gorgeous place that has had so much effort out into it. Bathroom was gorgeous with quality soaps and shampoo provided. Everything was spotless clean. The owner was lovely. And the homemade cookies were some of the best I’ve ever had!
Set within a stunning historic rainforest and walking track, Jackson's Retreat Alpine Holiday Park offers 5-star accommodations with access to a garden and a barbecue. Very comfortable and exceptionally clean. Attentive, warm and friendly staff. Fantastic facilities in a magnificent location. The entire place is so well maintained and the gardens/grounds are very well thought out and landscaped. (Can’t post photos as took them all on my daughters fancy camera which I’m as yet unable to transfer to my iPad 😳)
Arthur's Pass is a great place to stay in a beautiful forest location. Most travellers keep driving but take a day or two here to explore the forest, river and waterfalls on your way to or from Christchurch and the west coast.
Nice base for many hikes. But everything is extremely expensive and the only shop doesn't offer even the most basic food and closes at 5 p.m. Stock up if you're planning to visit the area otherwise you may stay hungry!
The local restaurant staying open to feed us, my wife has family history with the area and the owners remembered her grandparents. We only wish it wasn't a stop over for a night and we could have spent another night there looking around
Wondering accommodation. We love the nice room - convenient and gave us good night sleep. The kitchen and dining are perfect with all basic necessities. More importantly, the hotel manager is so friendly and accommodating. And the fact that he checked on us after our difficult climb is proof they look well after the safety and welfare of their customers. Will definitely come back again.
Fantastic Location for those that love the bush and New Zealand alpine environment. There are many great walks and climbs very handy. It can rain a lot but that just adds to the atmosphere. The 'Wobbly Kea' is the only restaurant in the village but it would be a good option anyway. Further afield there is the Bealey Hotel.
This was a nostalgic trip for my husband who spent much time in his youth mountaineering in this area. There are many beautiful walks and hikes with well-maintained tracks through beautiful rainforests and alpine terrain. Places to eat in the village are limited. The store closes at 5pm, has very limited supplies and has no fresh or frozen vegetables and fruit, so come prepared and well-stocked if you are self-catering.

Very nice cottage with all facilities. Helpful staff with extra fun activities for kids. Great location as well.
