Ventura Inn & Suites is located in Hamilton’s CBD and offers comfortable and affordable accommodations. Choose from studio rooms or apartment-style suites, with extra space and kitchen facilities.

Last minute stay at Ventura Inn was lovely. I was surprised to get a suite so that really exceeded my expectations. Basically it was a one bedroom apartment with all the amenities and comforts. Nice kitchen, big screen TV in the living room, large bed that was very comfortable, and windows that let in a lot of sunlight. Location was great- just a short walk to the main city center. Free parking on site too. Staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay very much. Definitely recommend.

As I was there for a wedding I only went to this in Gordontown which was fantastic and would recommend it for a special occasion, unfortunately the name has slipped my mind but tour buses go there as well to see the grounds

I think what I liked the most was visiting the botanical gardens and just spending time with our son who's studying at Waikato University. We just had some takeaways and dine-in at Macca's as it's our son's favourite place. Easy to get around as we were driving around in our car.

The express way enables you to get to Auckland in about an hour an half so a day trip is doable from Hamilton. Lots of restaurants to choose from. If you like Parkrun, Hamilton has two, University and one at the park Hamllton Lakes I think. Cambridge Parkrun is also nearby, 10 - 15 mins by car and its at the Velodrome so easy to find. Hamilton Gardens are well worth a visit too.

Didn't have much time but the two things I did was Hamilton gardens and river walk. Both nice enough but not a great tourist destination. I ate at a Greek restaurant downtown which was one of the few places I ate in NZ that was not great - not bad, just not great

I enjoy the Waikato although not crazy about Hamilton.

I enjoy the Waikato although not crazy about Hamilton. Hamilton has the best zoo in all of New Zealand though, in my opinion. The animals in general have larger cages / enclosures and appear to be happier. I have never been to Hamilton Gardens but that is on my list of things to do. I highly recommend Taitua Arboretum...love it there. There are some lovely parks in and around Hamilton but unfortunately the only thing that has put me off a few times is that I do not feel safe.

Hamilton Gardens has got to be the best gardens in the Southern Hemisphere. If you have been to Bucharest Gardens in Vancouver Island this is on a par, perhaps better. We were simply amazed with the quality of these gardens. Well worth a visit
