Such a cute little bnb. Separate building with lovely well chosen furnishing. Beds and linens were super comfortable and the whole place was very clean. Great distance from town and Hobbiton!

The breakfast was really nice. Tasty jam, homemade bread with fresh fruits. Rooms are also big and clean with nice view. Hosts are so nice. Free pickup. Helped us a lot. We feel very warm welcomed. After check out, dropped us off at the place we supposed to go. I will definitely choose again when I visit next time. A pleasant journey with comfortable stay.

Centrally located town of the North Island worth an overnight stop for lots of sightseeing spots nearby and good eateries. We recommend Hobbiton to anyone, even if you are not a fan of the movie series. It is a very enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours. Also do not miss the unique Blue Spring in Putaruru. The township of Matamata has many drinking and eating options for all budgets and some really nice places are reasonably priced.

We visited specifically to visit Hobbiton, this was a perfect stay for this purpose. We had a great meal at The Redoubt, although if eating on a Wednesday evening it helps if you enjoy Country and Western music. Pretty much everything was in walking distance. The area is really well looked after

Great place to unwind and just chill. Handy to Rotorua and Tauranga too. If you want somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger cities but with all the essentials, Matamara is the place to be.

We loved our stay at A Place In the Paddock. It was just what it says. A beautifully appointed 3 bedroom house with room for family and friends right in the middle of a working dairy farm. We all enjoyed our stay. We visited the nearby Okoroire Hot Springs in Tirau close by. The are beautiful natural thermal pools in the bush. A must do.

I love the Lord of the Rings movie set, it was worth the money. A cheerful leader led the way to the movie set and described the details of the place and trees for the movie shooting. It ended with a drink which was relaxing.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and the beds were very comfortable. It’s location is great for visiting Hobbiton, going out to eat in Matamata, and venturing to Auckland or Rotorua. We booked both rooms offered at this location, which provided us with a private experience with our group of people! It was perfect for our stay.
