I recently did a self-guided cycling tour visiting several wineries and local producers, and it was such a fun and memorable experience. One of my top recommendations is Bladen Winery. The tour was super interesting and enjoyable, lasting a little over one hour. It included a generous amount of wine tasting and amazing, welcoming vibes from the owners. At $25 per person, it’s excellent value and a must-visit. Another highlight was Roots Gin. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the place is surrounded by a beautiful garden that makes the experience even more special. The gin was absolutely delicious — perfect for a relaxed stop during the ride. We also visited DNA Brewery and Restaurant, which was very good and a great place to take a break and enjoy the atmosphere. To complete the trip, we enjoyed some beautiful gourmet experiences, including Harvest Restaurant, which offered amazing hospitality and a truly memorable culinary experience. Overall, the self-cycling tour was fun, relaxing, and full of great flavours, friendly people, and beautiful scenery. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable way to explore the region.

My stay was cut short due to Covid =lockdown, however the 2 nights i spent here was great, would recommend this hotel to others. Very clean spacious and well located for vineyards. Opposite a café and shop area. 10 minutes drive to Blenheim or 7 to Renwick. Friendly locals and welcoming to solo travellers.

This was the perfect place to unwind after some more active days out tramping. We were warmly welcomed by Paula, our friendly and helpful host. The room was very comfortable and had a nice deck out to the garden with plenty of birdsong (even though we didn't get to enjoy it much due to the weather). Everything was spotlessly clean. Good breakfast, too. The location is very quiet and perfect for relaxation, but is also just a short drive to Renwick where there are pubs and a supermarket.

Staying at Brancott Ridge was a fantastic experience. The bedroom, bathrooms and lounge were very clean, well furnished and with superb views. Being able to relax in the pool at the end of the day was great. Karla and the lovely dogs made us feel very welcome. Karla did us a huge favour by providing information about the local vineyards, and gave us bikes and a lift into Renwick. In all she was a great, accommodating host and made the stay exceptional.

We usually do hotels due to unpredictable nature of B&Bs, but I am glad we broke that rule here. The proprietors have really made an effort to ensure a relaxed stay close to nature, in a beautiful spot. Our 11-year-old getting to take eggs from the chicken coop in the mornings was a highlight. The fire was super-easy to use as well, and very effective in heating the room at a cold time of year.
