One of Poland’s oldest cities and a birthplace of the Polish nation, Poznan is the capital city of the Greater Poland (Wielkopolska) region. Famous for international trade fairs, high quality shopping and popular festivals, this city is on the rise!
Its colourful medieval Old Town flourishes with dozens of bars, cafés and pubs open until the early hours of the morning. During warm days, you can sit in one of the pretty beer gardens and admire the architecture and the world going by.
For something different, enjoy Europe’s only steam-hauled passenger train and ride to Greater Poland National Park. Alternatively, visit the reconstructed brewery and indulge in shopping, as the Old Brewery is now one of the world’s best shopping malls.
Poznan lies halfway between Berlin and Warsaw and perfectly combines the old and the new, from Ostrow Tumski with its beautiful St. Peter’s and Paul’s Cathedral, to the glass and steel of Poznan International Fair and the city's skyscrapers.
Booking.com has a wide range of accommodation in Poznan to fit all your needs, from convenient hotels, to stylish apartments and budget hostels. So whenever you happen to arrive at Poznan Lawica Airport, you’re only minutes away from exploring this fascinating city.
Poznań is the capital of the Greater Poland (Wielkopolska)...
Poznań is the capital of the Greater Poland (Wielkopolska) region, and a very diverse and open-minded place to visit with tonnes of nightlife, culture and history to satisfy very different tastes.
I visited with my partner for a long weekend, and we could've easily made it a full week. It is a noticeably queer-friendly city, with several LGBTQ bars across the city and rainbow flags in public. Even though I am originally from Poland, I was very positively surprised seeing a more queer-friendly side of my home country. My British partner really wants to visit again, so I guess that's the best recommendation.
English and German are widely spoken in the service industry, so foreign visitors won't struggle. There are lots of diverse food options, Polish, Georgian, Ukrainian, Middle Eastern and others, representing the many cultures which make Poznań their home. Try a Covridog when you are on Półwiejska Street, it's like a hot dog encased in pretzel dough, very filling and tasty.
If you like your history, make time to see the June '56 memorial honouring the first workers' strike in the times of the People's Republic. The Imperial Castle (Zamek Cesarski) is equally impressive, the former residence of the Prussian Kaiser Wilhelm II, and the only remaining residence of Adolf Hitler (although he never actually stayed there). And after a long day of sightseeing, go chill on the banks of the Warta River right across the Old Warta Riverbed Park (Park Stare Koryto Warty).
The public transport is also commendable, especially the dense tram network which can get you across the city in a very reasonable time and for a reasonable time. We can't wait to visit again!

I liked the old town and all the beautiful historic churches...
I liked the old town and all the beautiful historic churches and buildings .The people were friendly too. I also liked the Stary Browar shopping centre which was an old brewery. Its architecture was really amazing. Had nice coffee in Cofix in the old town square. Lots of places to eat in this square also. I felt very safe walking around. Renting out a scooter is a great way to see other parts if time is an issue . Jezioro Maltanskie ( Malta ) lake is a great place to walk around. Defiantly a place you could spend a few days seeing all the sights and thing the city has to offer. Don't forget to try the local St Martin Croissant , there amazing a must have.

Interesting city to visit.
Interesting city to visit. The old town was fascinating and we had a free guide on Saturday morning to the city from Paulina who was great. Unfortunately it rained pretty much the whole time so we didn't do as much as we wanted. We did visit the Enigma museum which was interesting and the Imperial Castle. We went to the Malta festival concert which was on the lake and was fantastic. We thought it was a friendly city, full of people having a great time with a fantastic restaurant (Muga) and fun bars (e.g. Baza)

Although my fifth visit there, there is always more to give.
Although my fifth visit there, there is always more to give. Meanwhile the tram lines in the city centre are reconstructed (together with the re-pavement of Stary Rynek after water pipe renewals), so not only more sights are easily accessible, but also new routes for the historic trams of buses, providing more sightseeing and more scenic backgrounds for photos.
Also the first time at Maltanka spa - it's great for families and wellness fans eather. The sauna area provides great steam baths and artistic sauna sessions.

Poznan is beautiful!
Poznan is beautiful! Lots to it from the old town to more local neighbourhoods like Jezyce. A nice mix of river, lots of greenery and city sightseeing and history. Not many tourists apart from in the sq for midday bells at the town halls
It was our second stay in this hotel this year. It has convenient location (next to the Stary Browar shopping mall and not too far from the city centre), friendly staff, clean room with tea and coffee available, excellent simple breakfast but with plenty of options. Good price vs quality ratio (although this time it was more than twice expensive than the last time we've been here). Will stay again!
Hotel is located 25 min by bus from Poznan Glowny and central Poznan. very good location. Friendly staff. The best place to stay 2 min walks to Ławica Airport. Comfortable bed and clean room. I recommend hotel and I will stay here again!
Wonderful staff who is very attentive, beautifully designed reception and common areas. Delicious food in the restaurant serving Polish food with a modern twist. My favourite hotel chain in Poland.
Hotel's location close to the city centre. About 15 minutes walking and closer to some pubs and shopping centres.
Good breakfast buffet and friendly staff.
