The breakfast was superb. The owner was on hand helping and asking people if they would like a warm dish - i.e. scrambled eggs, omelets, fried eggs - all freshly made there and then. Each room is different and unique. The whole hotel was really nicely done. I really could not find any fault with it at all

The hotel is ideally situated a very short walking distance to the town centre with all its restaurants , museums and other places to visit. It’s also near bus and tram stops . The main train station is only a couple of bus stops away . I found the hotel to be very quiet. My room had a beautiful view of the river which I could enjoy from my balcony. Both the room and the bathroom were spotlessly clean and it was very useful to have a fridge. The bed was extremely comfortable. More importantly given the time of the year the room was kept nicely warm at all times . Breakfast was available until quite late and was very copious. For the purpose of my visit I often had to go in and out of the hotel and I appreciated not having to go through reception but be able to use the other exit door. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again at hotel Czarna Roza.

Great location. Three minutes walk to the city center. Easy access by car and spacious parking on the hotel grounds. Professional and polite service. Clean, comfortable, modern room with everything you need (there is an electric kettle and a refrigerator). Good breakfast. It seemed to me that last year the choice was more varied. In any case, good value for money. We really like this hotel and will definitely choose it next time.

The location was convenient and made it easy to get around the city. Check‑in and check‑out were smooth, and the overall experience was quiet and relaxing. You know when thinking about our stay, it would be super nice to include a list and a bit of info about the highligts to "see" in Torun. We were there for the World Indoor Tack and Field Championships but had a couple days to explore and didn't really have ideas for outside of the Old Town. Information in the rental booklet about some of the MUST SEE'S outside of the Old Town would be a great idea to include, Just a thought.

Beautiful small town - nice feel to it.

Beautiful small town - nice feel to it. Amazing buildings, churches are massive,! Lovely town square - Town hall museum and tower well worth visiting. Copernicus house packed with information and well set out. Ginger bread shops everywhere! I imagine it could get busy in summer. Train station is across river - 10 minute ride on bus to town.

I was very impressed by Torun.

I was very impressed by Torun. It's a UNESCO city but unlike other cities with the same status, it's not overrun by international tourists. You'll find mostly Polish people there. The culture is definitely well alive and we met lots of very nice and interesting people from there. Our favourite bar was KADR to hang out with the locals.

Torun is a medieval gem in the heart of Poland. Close to the Baltic sea and close to Warsaw, the capital. The old town complex is a must see, especially at night. It offers beautiful and unique heritage; no wonder it's been on the Unesco list for almost 30 years now.

Happily or sadly, the 'adults only' tag refers not to vice but the lack of kids' facilities. It's a quirky, stylish place though the rooms can be pretty small. The air con is very effective. It's right in the old town and about 20 min walk from the station - you get to walk across the Vistula bridge. The breakfast was easily the best of the four places we stayed in Poland, with carefully chosen ingredients, excellent omelettes to order, beef tartare and even some sparkling wine to put an early morning spring in your step.

Hotel Halo Toruń is from now on my preferred hotel in Toruń (and I stay in Toruń regularly). It's in a quiet street near the river, but also just a stone's throw from the centre. The room was enormous and comfortable, and my wife, a vegan, was delighted at the variety for breakfast.
