What a fabulous holiday!! We had the most amazing 5 nights staying at The Golden Club and we didn't want to go home! Everything was so easy. The apartment was immaculate, comfortable and had everything you need. I stayed with my mum and daughter, my mum had the double bedroom which has its own en suite bathroom and its own balcony, we shared the other bedroom. All of the beds are very comfortable, there are two bathrooms and the living area is spacious with another good sized balcony off it. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a washing machine which was very handy. You do need to provide your own washing tablets and there were no spare bin bags so it is worth bringing some with you. There are two air con units which we found we needed as it was very hot the week we stayed but they helped keep the apartment cool. The apartment is well located within a few moments walk to the pools. The facilities were lovely, the pool area is huge and absolutely ideal for little children as there is a gentle slope down so that little ones can play safely. Although it was busy when we went we always managed to get a sun lounger. The staff are great, there are auqarobics classes and kids classes you can join in with which were a lot of fun. We ate at the ala carte resteraunt mostly, there are fabulous views from the balcony where you can enjoy sitting to eat, the food was reasonably priced and very good. We had breakfast one day at the main resteraunt which was £16 euros each, which we didn't find worth bothering with again. The evening entertainment isnt included in your wrist band however it was only £10 euros each and included a free drink so we were happy to pay and the shows were well worth it. From the hotel you can get a short boat ride to the beach, or a very short walk into the village which is very pretty, and has bars and nice places to eat. There is a Spar shop, however we found Uber the best way.

The location is fabulous right in the centre of Cabanas . The key holder Paula was the most helpful and accommodating person , communication was easy . The apartment had everything you needed and was very comfortable. The owner Chris also responded very quickly , great hosts .

What I liked: Cabanas de Tavira is a beautiful, peaceful, and family-friendly place. It has some of the most beautiful beaches in the Algarve, and the sea water is not as cold as in other parts of Portugal. It is a perfect destination for a relaxing holiday. What could be better: There is not much nightlife or entertainment in the evening, so it may feel a little too quiet for people looking for a more lively destination.

We haven't visited for about 12 years but not too much has changed. Still not overly busy but quite a few restaurants and bars. The beach is actually a massive sand bank ( google maps show it well) so it's accessed via a small boat ride (€1.50 return per person) the beach is literally miles long so it never gets busy. We counted only about 15 people as far as the eye could see, sand is fantastic. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available and there is a bar restaurant with toilets. I would recommend downloading the "BOLT" app and booking a taxi into Tavira which is really nice with more bars and restaurants than you could need and of course the chance to see some real Portuguese history. Even with a tip the most expensive ride was about 7 euros into Tavira with maximum 4 minutes wait.

Cabanas is generally low-key and low-rise.

Cabanas is generally low-key and low-rise. It's got lots of restaurants, some very good, and the waterfront boardwalk which extends the length of the main urban area is lined with restaurants, bars and some modest shops. Don't go for latenight carousing or nightclubs, but the area is very attractive in a gentle way. It's become much busier than it used to be, and there is still quite a lot of holiday accommodation under construction. There's a large but unobtrusive campsite tucked away a kilometer or so from the waterfront, seems to do good overwintering trade with northern EU sunbirds. Difficult to give specific recommendations for restaurants etc as tastes and chefs vary. I'd say it's best for older couples, those wanting to explore the many delights of the Eastern Algarve and the south-west tip of Spain (which is 20 minutes away over the suspension bridge at Castro Marim), families with younger children (probably not teenagers!)

It’s just a lovely town, it’s not too big and you can walk...

It’s just a lovely town, it’s not too big and you can walk your way around it, The train station is only a 15-20 minute walk to the apartments and hotels. The beach is something special, reached by a small motorboat or you can used the beach at one end which is just by the hotels or the pebble beach at the other up towards the fort. There is a long wooded board-walk which takes you from the smaller beach to the pebble beach depending on your Preferences and there are plenty of benches as you walk along. There are every kind of restaurant you can possibly want, plenty of shops and supermarkets to keep you busy. It’s easy to fly in and use the train to get there or you can drive there depending on your preferences. The Fort, once you see it you will want to stay. The fish and steak restaurants were our choice but there are Indian, Irish, and local dishes as well.

We tried quite a few of the restaurants and cafes that the area had to offer. The hot stone restaurant is fab but the portion's are huge! The kids portions are adult sized. There is a board walk to walk along and seats with shaded over them. Very handy to sit and watch the world and the boats go by!

It´s a small place but pleasant.

It´s a small place but pleasant. Lots of restaurants waterfront. Went to Coral restaurant a few times, we loved it, and the Royal Tandoori indian restaurant and for tradicional portuguese went to Europa restaurant. Good experiences everywhere. A great gelato place called Delizia, right on the waterfront. A small carrousel for children open at night. Beach on the other side of the waterfront, reachable by a very short boat trip. Some boat trips for sightseeing and nature lovers are available by the waterfront.

The hotel itself was lovely definitely 10 outa 10 but location was terrible. it’s advertised as a beach hotel but the beach was a boat ride away. There was no poolside entertainment whatsoever for the entirety of my seven day stay and as there’s not very much in the area it ended up costing a lot of money to travel to the nearest beaches and entertainment areas so would not stay here again or recommend to anyone looking for a beach hotel with entertainment

Really great stay here Golden Club is great even when it rains as there is an indoor poor and a bar restaurant over looking the Ria Formosa. Cabanas is lovely with many restaurants and cafes to choose from Walk or bike to Tavira or Cacela Velha or beyond. Or the charming ferry to the beach Relaxing in the nature of Ria Formosa

This was our first stay in Portugal and we weren't disappointed. The apartment was well equipped, nicely designed and in good location to the pool. It's also in a good location to all shops, bars and restaurants. We loved this Apartment for our 1 week stay and could of quite happily of stayed longer. We will definitely be back 😁
