Amazing resort hotel, a hidden gem. Rooms have modern design, bed is very comfortable, and balcony has amazing sea view. (the view depends on the room type) Hotel has several pools (open and indoor), spa (you have to pay for it), gym, daily activities (if you want) and nice sunbathing area on the roof. Hotel staff was very friendly and polite. Breakfast was amazing, 10 out of 10, lots of options to eat. Area around the hotel is beautiful and quiet, two sandy beaches and several restaurants are in a walking distance; and a small park just across the street. You will for sure need a car to get to the hotel, because it's located about 50km away from the airport.

Wonderful views, we lived on the ground floor and still had good ocean view. We saw the best sunsets on the island here. The whole place is very peaceful and quiet. The studio is large and has two separate rooms. Amazing breakfasts and dinners. The staff is super nice! There is a free shuttle to Paul do Mar (ocean) on Friday and Monday.

Everything was perfect, a very nice agroturism in a serene location yet close enough to the Calheta beach and all the island locations to visit and experience. Cottage very cute, clean and with everything you need for the stay. Daily cleaning was a definite plus. The Bago restaurant has amazing food, eating there highly recommended. We went twice and also took take away 3 times to eat in our cottage.

A lot of good restaurants next to the yacht harbor, tai massage option next to Saccharum, beach nearby and a park with all kind of musical events with free entrance. Evenings are on sunny side, mornings in the shadow.

Calheta is a nice quiet town.

Calheta is a nice quiet town. Very hilly but then all the towns are like this in Madeira! We really liked the quiet feel of the upper part where we stayed. There are lots of stores and restaurants along the beach and it's just a nice place to take a walk, go swimming and have a picnic or a beverage on one of the many restaurant patios along the marina. Finding gas stations was also very easy. We used this location to make it easy for us to access many of the hikes that are in this Western half on Madeira island. Even in rush hour it's under an hour to get to Funchal. We were there in April and already so many beautiful flowers blooming, The weather here is also ideal - a lot more sunny and dry compared to the Northwest areas of the Island.

The seafront is compact, you can walk the length of it in 15minutes. Parking can be very limited. The restaurants are good quality. Calhetta is clean. The supermarket has everything needed if you are self-catering. Callhetta is ideally placed. It's only a 45minute drive from the airport, all on main roads and no scary hill work.

Calheta is a small pleasant quiet village with restaurants alongside the marina. Two good hotels and some quality villas available to rent. No bars, so quiet nightlife. Good location for touring the island.

Pretty and quaint little town.

Pretty and quaint little town. December may not be the best time to visit due to unpredictable weather. People in the Calheta restaurants may not be particularly friendly but in the city are more friendly. The beaches are not equipped for walking around or swimming as the waves are really rough. Best for hiking trails and sea food.

Calhetta itself is small and the main part of it centres...

Calhetta itself is small and the main part of it centres around the harbour. As you might expect this means that all the major activities are boat-based such as whale and dolphin watching, sailing, fishing, excursions etc. but there are also lots of restaurants and bars overlooking the harbour where you can get a great meal - especially if you like fish - or just relax for the evening and watch the sunset.

The house was spacious, clean well decorated with a wonderful view. The furniture was in good condition. Garry was responsive and helpful. Upon arrival we received a lovely welcome basket that included wine, Madeira bread, cookies, crackers cheese and ham. Calheta was a sweet town. We ate delicious tuna at Lemme. Our server said it was freshly caught that day. We also ate at the pizzeria/gelato place. The thin crust pie was nicely made. Nice sunsets!

Calheta is amazing, sunny and provides the only sandy beach on the island. Top location! The hotel is directly on the beach, great playground 500m from there. The hotel is really amazing - we spent 1 week here and enjoyed the indoor pool, the gym, the sauna, turkish bath, the outdoor pool, the sandy beach just outside. There is a buffet option for every meal, as well as an a'la carte which is perfect for a less noisy evening.

The property has a great view of the ocean and everything you need for a comfortable stay. We were 2 families with kids and stayed there for 7 days. Everything was perfect! The location is very close to the calheta beach with lot of restaurants and we could relax there almost every evening after our day trips.

A very nice hotel, with a beautiful view, friendly staff, right in the middle of a vineyard. We also had dinner there twice, very tasty. A great place to stay to explore the area and enjoy Madeira. Warning though: even if there are parking spots, they are challenging to use (quite steep).
