Czech RepublicWe were very pleased with our stay as the hotel was dare I say, the best accomodation I’ve ever stayed in. The bars were amazing as well as the staff, that was exceptionally kind and helpful. I definitely want to come back here someday.:) Also the side ocean view was beautiful.

United KingdomLovely hotel miles from anywhere so if you like peace and quiet this is the place to go. Very polite and helpful staff. Great food in the restaurant, plenty of choices.Wonderful apartment overlooking the ocean and fantastic views all round.
Indoor pool and sauna very good and even used outdoor pool..though a tad chilly in January! great location for walks and there's a courtesy bus to Calheta and the rum distillery...all in all a great holiday.

IrelandEverything was perfect, a very nice agroturism in a serene location yet close enough to the Calheta beach and all the island locations to visit and experience.
Cottage very cute, clean and with everything you need for the stay. Daily cleaning was a definite plus.
The Bago restaurant has amazing food, eating there highly recommended. We went twice and also took take away 3 times to eat in our cottage.

A lot of good restaurants next to the yacht harbor, tai massage option next to Saccharum, beach nearby and a park with all kind of musical events with free entrance. Evenings are on sunny side, mornings in the shadow.

Calheta is a nice quiet town.
Calheta is a nice quiet town. Very hilly but then all the towns are like this in Madeira! We really liked the quiet feel of the upper part where we stayed. There are lots of stores and restaurants along the beach and it's just a nice place to take a walk, go swimming and have a picnic or a beverage on one of the many restaurant patios along the marina. Finding gas stations was also very easy. We used this location to make it easy for us to access many of the hikes that are in this Western half on Madeira island. Even in rush hour it's under an hour to get to Funchal. We were there in April and already so many beautiful flowers blooming, The weather here is also ideal - a lot more sunny and dry compared to the Northwest areas of the Island.

The seafront is compact, you can walk the length of it in...
The seafront is compact, you can walk the length of it in 15minutes. Parking can be very limited. The restaurants are good quality. Calhetta is clean. The supermarket has everything needed if you are self-catering. Callhetta is ideally placed. It's only a 45minute drive from the airport, all on main roads and no scary hill work.

Calheta is a small pleasant quiet village with restaurants alongside the marina. Two good hotels and some quality villas available to rent. No bars, so quiet nightlife. Good location for touring the island.

Pretty and quaint little town.
Pretty and quaint little town. December may not be the best time to visit due to unpredictable weather. People in the Calheta restaurants may not be particularly friendly but in the city are more friendly.
The beaches are not equipped for walking around or swimming as the waves are really rough. Best for hiking trails and sea food.

Calhetta itself is small and the main part of it centres...
Calhetta itself is small and the main part of it centres around the harbour. As you might expect this means that all the major activities are boat-based such as whale and dolphin watching, sailing, fishing, excursions etc. but there are also lots of restaurants and bars overlooking the harbour where you can get a great meal - especially if you like fish - or just relax for the evening and watch the sunset.

A great place to stay, away from the busy area's which we wanted, not to far from the beach at calheta. The house was what we expected so certainly no disappointments, the family who own the property are very welcoming and hospitable, they made the stay even better, we certainly hope to visit again,it's on our list of properties. Not to far from Rabacal where we enjoyed a a great walk.

Excellent location for exploring Madeira 5 minute drive into Calheta where there are several restaurants and bars and never too busy.
The villa was amazing and we felt at home as soon we walked through the door.Jorge our host gave us some hints for days out,just enjoy Madeira but make time to enjoy the villa the evening barbecue and it’s views as well.

The room was excellent (we had an end room with a nice view.) There was a great selection of sun loungers around the pool so there wasn't much stress to find one even if you were a bit late down in the morning. The hotel was very clean and friendly and right beside a really nice little beach.

Christine was really nice and fastly communicating in case of questins, also providing good tips for trips and events. Her accommodation is in great area for walks on levadas, also close to a nice beach in Calheta. We enjoyed a lot 😊.

Outstanding breakfast with a view. Cosy Rooms. Lovely Roomcleaners. Private Beachchairs included. Nice and helpfull staff. Live Music at the rooftopbar. Beachbar was beautiful. The Mountains surrounding the Hotel are amazing.
