Hostess was so good to us. We didn't arrive until after midnight and had to leave early morning. She packed us a breakfast that kept us eating until evening. So kind and very appreciated. Oh WOW. Just wow. Comfy bed, beautiful little cottage built by the owner and her husband with their own two hands, perched on the side of a mountain with incredible views, delicious breakfast delivered in a hamper and eaten outside listening to the water running in the river below and the birds singing. Just beautiful.

Fonte d'Amandos offers rooms in the very centre of Arganil. All rooms have got private bathrooms, ours had a walk-in shower. We stayed in the family room, which has two levels, so our son had a little privacy. The place is air-conditioned and cleaned regularly. The beds are very comfortable, and there are also desks and space to hang clothes. The staff of Fonte d'Amandos is charming and always helpful. Every morning you can have breakfast at the bakery, which serves a good variety of rolls and cakes, both sweet and savoury. Many local people come for a coffee, and to buy bread there. There is parking nearby. We have stayed there before, and we will certainly come back.
