I loved my room (402)! Beautiful view of the church lit up until 12:30 am every night. Everything worked perfectly in the room - heat, TV, shower and the bed was so comfortable. Most of all, though, I loved the proximity to the Fatima sanctuary, and the incredible kindness of the staff - Ana Julia, Joao, Ines and the owner, Emanuel. I am looking forward to returning to Hotel Santa Isabel soon.

It was much as I had expected.
It was much as I had expected. The sanctuary is the biggest attraction in Fatima. You can literary walk everywhere. There are many restaurants within the area but I ate at the hotel's restaurant. If I should visit during the spring or summer months I may explore the other restaurants within the neighbourhood.

The Shrine is within walking distance from the apartment, so we were able to attend the mass and rosary everyday. For dinner, there are a lot of restaurants near the Shrine and our apartment. The one we went to had delicious food; also, there is one carry-out food restaurant where we always go to on the way home from the shrine.

For the price, it was fine. My complaint is the hot water, not enough for a good shower. Since didn't want to take cold showers I sometimes took sponge bath, very inconvenient. The hot water from the sink was fine.

The host were very kind and welcoming. The breakfast were delicious and plenty. The room was clean and very comfortable. The whole house is nicely decorated with hand made details by hosts. Best place to stay for day trips to Tomar and Nazare.

Fatima would have little interest to those not interested in the religious significance of the location. For those who are, I think it is a mixed bag, as the religious experience of being there overcomes any physical drawbacks. While the original basilica is beautiful, a modern outdoor, exterior altar built in front mars the view. The plaza itself is surrounded by 1960s-1970s buildings that (to my taste) are just plain unattractive. The Church of the Holy Trinity and underground chapels resemble nothing so much as cold, characterless convention center size auditoriums. Fortunately, the nearby village where the three Fatima children lived and its immediate surrounds allows a far greater greater emotional connection (again, in my view) to the Fatima phenomenon and is highly recommended.

A simple hotel with a great location (2-minute walk from the sanctuary). The staff is very friendly and always available to help. The hotel is reasonably priced (Good value for money). Finally, for me (travelling to Fatima for religious purposes) the “icing on the cake” of the Consolata Hotel is their little and cosy chapel open 24 hours where you can spend some quality time. It was my third time in this Hotel, and I will keep coming back.

Spacious room with an outstanding air condition, very comfortable big bed, a small kitchen area and great bathroom with shower. Breakfast was good. The elevator didn't reach higher than the third floor, but, it was well worth carrying our bags up the extra flight of stairs to get such a grand view!

I was moved from Cruz Alta to another hotel 100 meters ahead called Estrela de Fátima. The hotel is a crossroad from Fatima's Sanctuary, breakfast was excellent and the room was very quiet, so the change didn't cause any upset.
