Retiro do Geres is a truly amazing place. It combines the calmness and beaty of the mountains with high quality service, food and accomodation. The personal is friendly and varm and makes you feel right at home. The breakfast is overwhelming. The restaurant is brilliant. The pool and sauna is beatiful. We had a great great time with our kids here for 3 nights while taking smaller hikes in the area around the village fafiao - and we hope to come back again.

Everything was just really nice. The hosts are super friendly and helpful, the rooms are amazingly big and comfortable, we enjoyed the private jacuzzi. From our terrace, the pool and the dining area, the view is just fantastic. Food was also good, and from the hotel, there are so many nice hikes to go to before relaxing at the pool.

This Guest House was amazing! The room was super modern and comfortable, everything was very clean and the employees were also very nice. Bonus: the breakfast was delicious! Location was also perfect! Close to lots of must see spots in Gerês.

Breathtaking location, lovely and kind staff, amazing breakfast (ask for scrambled eggs, they were delicious!) and new, comfortable room. Quinta da Riba Má even exceeded our expectations, and I am sure to say we will be back to stay longer than just for the 2 nights we did this time! It's an exceptional place.

This part of Portugal is developing its tourist scene, and that is exacty why we chose to visit it. It is a rugged area, that lends itself to hiking, mountain biking and other outdoor pursuits. The venue is located on the southern edge of the Penedes Geres national park, and we found plenty to see and do as we like hiking and mountainous areas. There are several places to eat around the area, which all seem to offer good value and good home made food. However, be prepared to travel to get there. We are at the the restaurant next to the fridge at Ponta Nova and would readily recommend it.
