We loved stepping into this multi generational family home. It was clean, had all of the basic necessities, and we loved the tapestries and other colorful touches around the property. We felt very welcomed, also by the neighbors as we walked around the town! If you choose this property, you absolutely must choose to also eat there at least one night! High quality, and literally 0 km! Delicious and abundant!

Easy to find as you enter the village. Parking on site. The building is relatively new and very clean. The welcome from Ileana and Petro was very warm (take your Google translate with you). The room was small but very clean, good shower, bathroom, etc. Make sure you book for breakfast and dinner! Wonderful fresh, local dishes. Vegans could have a problem here. Ileana is the cook and explains all the courses in rapid fire Romanian. Fortunately an English speaking Romanian family took us in hand and translated and explained everything for us - they were so warm and friendly, like most of the locals we met.

Big and very clean house in a nice and quiet location. A Very beautiful garden with hammocks and slides to hang out. Fantastic food served by the manager's wife. The manager was extremely friendly and helpful. There is a lovely little white puppy too

Breb is a farytale like place.

Breb is a farytale like place. Amazing scenery, lovely people, lovely homes and streets. You also have restaurants and shops, but for "shopping" we recommend buying food from the locals. The best food there is.

Breb is one of the most beautiful and authentic villages we have ever visited. Nestled in the stunning landscape of Maramureș, it feels like stepping into another world — peaceful, traditional, welcoming, and full of charm. The wooden houses, beautiful gates, green hills, and traditional way of life create an atmosphere that is simply unforgettable. What makes Breb truly special, however, are the warm and genuine people who proudly preserve their traditions and share their way of life with visitors. For anyone looking to experience the real Romania, away from mass tourism, Breb is an absolute must. A magical place that touched our hearts — we will definitely return!

It was our favorite town out of the near ones we visited, a...

It was our favorite town out of the near ones we visited, a great hub for visiting Barsana Monastery or the Merry Cemetery in Sapanta and everything else to see around there. We stayed 3 nights and it was perfect for a relaxed pace to visit the Maramures area.

Narrow one lane Road leading to the village.

Narrow one lane Road leading to the village. I was praying there would be no car coming in the opposite direction.To get to your property you may be on gravel Road. Keep this in mind when you plan your village stay. If you stay does not include food, make sure you grab some food before you head out to your hotel.

Breb was an excellent village to visit.

Breb was an excellent village to visit. I came during the off season, in the winter. It was very peaceful and offered many nature scenes to enjoy. I felt very grateful to be welcomed into this community as it definitely felt very traditional. I was always careful to be respectful and quiet and even subtle in my photography on occasion. It made me feel very comfortable to walk around. The fields and the hay baling in the traditional style is very neat. Coming from Nebraska, I appreciate rural communities. It's a very nice place for a relaxing retreat. There are also other places you can reach but you will need a car or some sort of transportation. I stayed in the village as I had come from nearby Baia Mare where I live currently. This is a special place to visit in Maramures. I recommend idyllic Breb!

Such a beautiful little hamlet!

Such a beautiful little hamlet! The fields surrounding Breb are gorgeous, with some looking like rice terraces. Very safe village with authentic Maramures wooden houses and farm land. Best kept gem in Romania!
