Very central location. Near public transport - busses, metro. Some small stores, bistro, coffee shop. Good breakfast, but don’t wait something big - it’s a tiny breakfast room with concentrate offer.

FAQs about hotels in Bucharest

Where Modern Meets Old

A fascinating mix of old and new, Bucharest is one of those cities where you can find a futuristic structure of glass and steel next to an old church, separated by a Communist-style massive edifice. Not overwhelmed by its dark past, the city is now turning its optimistic face towards the West.

Undergoing constant modernisation processes, the city continually changes and new modern structures pop up in the city centre and beyond. Great examples are the stunning Basarab Bridge, Europe’s widest cable-stayed bridge, and the City Gate Towers.

Whilst admiring the new, don’t miss out on the old classics, like the Parliament Palace, the world’s second largest building, with over 3100 rooms and impressive marble interiors covering 330,000 m². Make sure you admire the view from Nicolae Ceauşescu's balcony!

To fully appreciate the city’s long history, from Vlad the Impaler (aka Dracula) to the ’89 revolution, the city offers free guided walking tours, giving you a great opportunity to discover all the city’s secrets. And spot all the best shopping venues!

Before you land at Bucharest Airport, just 18 km from the city centre, make sure you check what Booking.com has to offer: from hotels to apartments, just a few clicks away!

Bucharest has multiple elegant and beautiful churches/...

Bucharest has multiple elegant and beautiful churches/ religious buildings throughout the city. There's a lot to see, but after a day of walking around, I felt I'd already seen all the main sites. You can easily explore all the main buildings and cultural sites in 2 days. I personally loved the second-hand/ thrift shops, as there are so many and they had a really nice selection of clothes. One place I really loved eating was "Casa de Tacos" (they have multiple locations in Bucharest) for their portion sizes, prices and the selection of food. The restaurant itself also had a very fun and decorated feel to it, and the staff was friendly. I also recommend the LUCA cafés/ pastry shops for a quick and tasty bite to eat. The public transport there was very easy to use with a tap-and-go system and the fares were very cheap (less than 1€ for bus and metro). Ubers were sometimes interesting as I found that a lot of drivers smoke whilst driving, but ask permission first in case it bothers you. I have friends living in Bucharest who showed me the drag queen and queer scene which was surprisingly very good, considering Romania is a very religious country. The gay nightclubs are very fun and the community is very friendly and happy to meet foreign people.

It was ok.

It was ok. Everything about Bucharest was very exaggerated. you can do this city in 2 days we went to Therme it was OK very busy so not the best. We went to see the castles, which were very small in comparison to those in neighbouring countries. Romania doesnt have anything of its own - I would love to see a Nadia Cominch museum that would be great and a real ability to embrace a home grown hero.

Bucharest is a city that surprises you.

Bucharest is a city that surprises you. It combines historic buildings, wide boulevards, and beautiful parks with a lively modern atmosphere. The old town is full of bars, restaurants, and cafés, perfect both during the day and in the evening. Prices are very affordable compared to other European capitals, and the people are friendly and helpful. Public transport connections are also excellent. An ideal destination for a weekend or a longer holiday. Highly recommended!

A big city with much to do.

A big city with much to do. This review is mostly written from the point of view of a wheelchair user. For able bodied people, I would highly recommend! Issues I had were that there are no dips in footpaths and the drop is substantial. Also, a lot of them are in poor repair with cracks that make it harder to transverse with a wheelchair. Public transport is good by bus, most of them have a ramp. However, it depends on which driver you meet as a lot of them wouldn't come out to manually lower it for us so we had to lift up a very big step up. I have found Romanian people very friendly and helpful, most of them would offer assistance. You will find wheelchair accessible toilets mostly only in big shopping centers, just be aware that you can mostly not lock them. We have not found any wheelchair accessible toilet in old town, and we asked in lots of places. We visited the Palace of Parliament which was accessible, but also does not have a wheelchair toilet. I feel the lack of facilities is something that should be addressed as it is a lovely place to visit! You don't see many people there in wheelchairs which I guess is partly the reason it isn't done.

- Perfect location next to the old town and city centre, less than 15 minutes walk to all the main sights in Bucharest - Extremely nice room with nespresso machines and a great bathroom - Free onsite gym which was a nice bonus - Best of all the staff, they allowed a 2 hour early check in free of charge, held my bags for me after check out and also helped me out a lot when I had broken my mobile and needed to buy a new one. All of this went above and beyond my expectations and made my visit to Bucharest a very enjoyable one!

The hotel was comfortable and breakfast a plentiful spread in a buffet style. The beds were comfortable. The shower nice. The reception staff were very helpful and non intrusive. So we were able to just relax and enjoy our stay. It was a good location for us because we were visiting Therme on one day and going into the Old Town in central Bucharest the second day. The hotel was roughly mid way between them. It was great value for money for our short break.

Location was perfect with a 10 minute walk to the train station and approx. 40 minute walk to the old town. Bar and restaurant on site was a great bonus. We booked the junior suite which was great value for money. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely use this hotel again and a great stopping point if travelling outside Bucharest given its proximity to the train station.

The Hotel is very easily accessible, only about 20min walking to the center of Bucharest / to the old town. My room was clean and the staff was super friendly, they recommended me great restaurants and also offered to help me booking some activities nearby. The room had a nice modern, yet nostalgic touch to it.
