A very nice hotel, with lots of amenities, kind staff and sparkly clean ! It was really hard for me to find a good accommodation in Bucharest since many of them have good photos but when you get on site, the reality isn’t what it was presented. In this case, it was beyond our expectations.

We had a great stay at Ibis Bucharest Politechnika. I travelled to Bucharest with my spouse and before our stay I asked for a room with a good view as we were going to celebrate the anniversary of our wedding. When arriving in the hotel we were not only given the room with a perfect view but also received a complimentary bottle of wine and the room was decorated with flowers. The hotel staff was very friendly. The breakfast was perfect. We highly recommend this hotel and would like to congratulate the staff with the perfect work.

FAQs about hotels in Bucharest

Where Modern Meets Old

A fascinating mix of old and new, Bucharest is one of those cities where you can find a futuristic structure of glass and steel next to an old church, separated by a Communist-style massive edifice. Not overwhelmed by its dark past, the city is now turning its optimistic face towards the West.

Undergoing constant modernisation processes, the city continually changes and new modern structures pop up in the city centre and beyond. Great examples are the stunning Basarab Bridge, Europe’s widest cable-stayed bridge, and the City Gate Towers.

Whilst admiring the new, don’t miss out on the old classics, like the Parliament Palace, the world’s second largest building, with over 3100 rooms and impressive marble interiors covering 330,000 m². Make sure you admire the view from Nicolae Ceauşescu's balcony!

To fully appreciate the city’s long history, from Vlad the Impaler (aka Dracula) to the ’89 revolution, the city offers free guided walking tours, giving you a great opportunity to discover all the city’s secrets. And spot all the best shopping venues!

Before you land at Bucharest Airport, just 18 km from the city centre, make sure you check what Booking.com has to offer: from hotels to apartments, just a few clicks away!

Bucharest is a super interesting city, with varied architectures. Some might need some renovation but a very good impression the city gives to the visitor. There are plenty of interesting museums as well but make sure you plan your holiday to prevent public holidays as at those days almost no institution is open.

Public transport is good and cheap, approximately 13 Euro for a Week for 1 person. Restaurant are relatively expensive. I liked Bucharest. In a 3 million city there is plenty to see. People are generally friendly. It might be slightly more difficult when you have no understanding of the Romanian language. while I have difficulty to express myself I can follow most talks. But the young generation has English skills.

The Therme Spa is definitely worth visiting, especially if you have been walking around for the duration of your stay. It is easy to get around on public transport, and there is plenty to see from Synagogues, to Churches to Museums. Plenty to tick off different wants. If you plan on heading to Bran Castle, it is worth getting the early morning trains to Brasov as there is plenty to see there too.

Bucharest is a mixture of old and new regarding the architecture and culture. From attractions at least the House of Parliament, National Gallery of Art and the outdoor museum Satului (Dimitrie Gusti) are worth visiting. The old town is a vibe with some attractions like the Stavropoleos Monastery. The Football Museum is quite small and a bit of a disappointment. Please note: in stores called Mega Image our bank/credit cards didn't work, although they worked in every other market (Carrefour, Mini Markets, Anna Market etc.)

Worth a short stop on your way to see the rest of Romania, but no need to spend too long. Lots of beautiful streets but you can cover it in a day and a half. Take a free walking tour to get a good understanding of the various eras the city has gone through. No need to do the tour of the Palace of Parliament - especially if you are going to visit one of Romania's castles which are far more interesting inside. The old town has been taken over with nightclubs, shisha bars and tourist restaurants serving international food serving bachelorette weekends. A lot of trendy cafes but all had fake brick interiors playing bossa nova covers of famous songs. Basically what you'd find in Dubai. We much preferred the 1st sector which had more vibe and local activity.

Brand new hotel and modern, spacious apartment, kind and helpful staff. We stayed in the heart of Bucharest, in a very central location. Great location, next to the old town. Mrs. Kelekidou, manager of the hotel, willing to meet us and serve us in anything we needed. Kind and very pleasant person informed us about the attractions of the city. I highly recommend. If you choose Bucharest for a leisure trip or a business trip, it is indisputably the best place for your stay.

Very clean hotel. We had 3 rooms on floors 3, 4 and 7. All very clean and with excellent facilities. Very hot upon arrival but we were able to adjust the thermostat on the heating. Breakfast was also surprisingly good for a 3* hotel. The location is perfect, in the centre of Bucharest, close to Metro and bus stops, museums, restaurants and the Old Town. The staff is very kind and helpful. Overall a very pleasant experience.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Emma! The rooms are spacious, super clean, and have everything you could possibly need. It’s in a convenient spot too — just a short 10–15 minute walk to public transport, and from there you’re in the city centre in about 20 minutes. A great choice if you’re visiting Bucharest!
