Located in the center of Cachtice town and only 0.6 mi from Cachtice Castle, Palatín offers a self-catered accommodations, free WiFi in the entire property and free private parking possible on site. The hall and the rooms looks amazing and the location is great. Before it took some effort to get to the Čachtice castle but now they have a tourist train that can take you there. I also forgot my bluetooth headphones in the room and the owner agreed to send them by post and I am really thankful for that.
In the village of Višňové and offering views of the Čachtice Castle, Hostinec Škulec – Ubytovanie houses a restaurant with a bar and offers free WiFi in all areas. The staff was very nice and caring, we could always choose the time of the breakfast and the dinner and were asked about our food requirements in advance. The panorama from the balcony is also satifying, the castle of Cachtice (Csejte) is directly visible from the windows.
Nove Mesto nad Vahom’s Apartmanovy penzion Park offeres guests apartments with a kitchenette, bathroom, dining area, seating area and satellite TV. Wi-Fi is available free of charge. Very clean and comfortable apartment! The hosts are very nice and we could even keep our bikes in the basement. There is a parking lot included in the inner yard of the building!
Penzión Kúria is located in the center of Nové Mesto nad Váhom, in a quiet area by the park. Free WiFi is available in all areas and parking is possible on site. Penzion Kuria exceeded my expectations, it's a great value for money. My room was really nice and spacious, all very clean and airy. The bathroom has a large comfortable corner shower. The stuff were really helpful.
Čachtice is an old village with a very rich history under the castle of the same name. You can find out about the history of the village in its museum or, better, walk up to the castle and experience not just excellent views, but also the medieval flavour of a place famous for Elisabeth Bathory and some murky history.
Cachtice are calm little vilage with ruin of ancient castle. Whole trip to castle maybe aproximately one hour long. From there are many nice views of nearby country. In the vilage there is also interesting fortified church (you must ask pastor for keys). There is not much more to do there besides hiking :-). There are few restaurants (pizerias) but unfortunately none of them are doing breakfast.
Čachtice is quite rundown with some historical buildings, partly renovated, partly rundown. It would worth a stop but next time I would choose a different place to stay (eg. Víšňové). The castle itself and the hills definitely worth a trip.
There is not much to see in Cachtice itself but the hrad (about 2.5 km from the village) is great! The lack of open restaurants/bars/coffee shops was quite limiting so be prepared if coming in winter. Bring your own food/drink. Bus times are also a bit limited getting to and from so plan ahead well. Enjoyed our visit but one day was enough to see the sights.
The staff member was very nice and cooperative. Even though i arrived 1 hour after given booking time i was able to book in immediately (it took him less than 7min to arrive and book me in). Good value for money (although someone with big demands and used to snobby 4-star hotels probably could be dissapointed, i'm not such person and was wery satisfied with my stay).
Stylish hotel in historic town house. Great service, cozy rooms and café with nice staff.
