An amazing place for families with children, green and quiet. There’s a cute zoo right next to the hotel, and a huge playground for the kids. The dining hall is great for both breakfast and dinner. You could easily spend a few days here without ever leaving the premises; I’m bummed we only stayed for two days instead of three.

**Positive:** The photos on the listing do not do this place justice — the reality was noticeably better than expected. A very pleasant surprise on arrival. Outstanding location: the apartment is right next to the Štrbské Pleso train station (a one-minute walk, essentially just behind the building), and about a 5-minute easy, flat walk to the lake itself. The view from the room and balcony looks directly onto the High Tatras peaks. A truly special base for hiking: you can set off on foot directly from the apartment onto a wide range of trails. Routes don't have to be circular — we did a trek and returned by TEŽ train from the neighbouring resort town, which gave excellent flexibility for planning one-way hikes. Cleanliness and upkeep: spotless on arrival and maintained at a high standard throughout our four nights. Kitchen (Comfort+ suite): a well-equipped kitchenette with hob and microwave allowed fully independent self-catering for all meals. Worth noting: there is no oven, so anything requiring baking isn't possible. Quiet: very quiet at night, with no noise from the railway or the road. Check-in / check-out: smooth and straightforward, no delays. Staff: courteous, available, and clear in all communication throughout the stay. Value for money: fair relative to the service level, central location, and equipment. **What could be improved:** Nothing of substance.
