Amazing resort, beautiful beach, awesome swimming pool. Staff was great, very welcoming and accomodating. Amazing view from the beachfront villa. Loved the bath and the outdoor shower.
Nestled along the pristine stretch of Ao Kao Beach, Koh Mak Ao Kao White Sand Beach offers comfortable modern tropical bungalows with free WiFi. The staff at this resort exceeded our expectations, everyone was so friendly and able to help us with any requests that we had without hesitation. Although the food at the restaurant was quite pricey, it was delicious and their breakfast buffet was also very nice. The hotel provides glass bottles that you can refill free of charge which was very convenient as we didn't have to buy water ourselves. When we first arrived, flowers were laid out on the bed for us in the shape of our names which was a very nice touch. Our room was beautiful and the bathroom was well equipped with a hairdryer and basic shower amenities. The beach that the resort is on was extremely clean and beautiful.
Located in Koh Mak, Villa Allure has a restaurant and a bar. Among the various facilities are a garden and a terrace. The rooms are fitted with a balcony. Though this place is a bit out of the center of Koh Mak, but it makes me feel very peaceful and get to rest my mind.
By The Sea Koh Mak Boutique Guesthouse features a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a bar and garden in Ko Mak. Amazing new property on the island. Great vibes. Clean rooms. Pool is huge. It has a very natural, unspoiled vibe. Beaches are clean and safe for swimming. The people on the island are friendly. We had a great chicken baguette at Koh Maak’s Coziest restaurant. I had a very nice Massaman curry at a beachside restaurant called Sabai guest house I think, just along from Makathanee resort. Where we stayed By the Sea had a really nice indoor outdoor bar restaurant and Silke the hostess/owner was charming and helpful. Hiring a motorbike at our resort was the best idea as it made it very easy to explore the island and move place to place.
Very small island, so wild. The beaches are amazing, unfortunately in some parts you can find lot of plastic, which ruins the beauty of this small island. Sunset is amazing. Best place is at the rooftop bar at the Makathanee resort. A must is to go for a drink at Monkey bar
We loved the sleepy island of Koh Mak. It offered the perfect amount of activities and relaxation. The restaurants were amazing, especially the Food Art House. The Phoenix Muay Thai Gym provided an amazing opportunity to learn the local sport and get in a good workout!
Ko Mak is a really special Thai island. Apparently still privately owned, there is a determination not to over-develop. Consequently it feels very unspoilt, whilst still being very comfortable. If you want lots to do and late nights then it isn’t for you, but if you want a lovely, friendly easy going place and some stunning beaches then it’s perfect! Do be aware that whilst the island is generally very clean, it does suffer from some trash being washed in from elsewhere. The islanders work very hard at keeping the beaches pristine but after a windy period and on some stretches of “unowned” beach you do come across trash - such a shame!
Perfection. Quiet and not touristy. Beautiful beaches, lots of activities. Koh Mak Seafood restaurant have the best food I've had in Thailand so far. You have to take a taxi if you can't ride a scooter, next time I would like to hire one. Especially if on the far side of the island. Would love to go back.
Koh Mak remains a place that gives one the impression of a place that still remains free from mass tourism , with plenty of places to choose from , however they still need to address the problem of sand fly in certain places
Perfect place for relax in Koh Mak nearest pier and local market and food shop price very reasonable inside hotel area beautiful landscape plentiful friendly dogs beach very beautiful you can bike to Ao Suan yai and Laem son and take small boat to Koh Kam and Koh Kradad (a lot of Deers) and beautiful landscape also or you can swim from Ao Suan yai to Koh kam in 40 min, over there water very very clear and sand be very white similar to Kai island near Lipe in Andaman
The stuff is very helpful, they help me to book boat and pick up in the pier. The villa is green, quiet and secluded. Room is spacious. Have branch outside. Restaurant is good, food is tasty. Have kayaks to use. They also help me to rent motorbike outside as it was not so close to the hotel.
Thanks! The staff was always so friendly and supportive. Nice family runned hotel! Breakfast was lovely and nice. What we liked the most: The Hotel shows a lot of ownership when it comes to sustainability. They avoid plastic as much as they can e.g. by serving water in glassbottles.
Very friendly and helpful staff. A good location on the beach and very peaceful. The food was very good and a reasonable price. Bungalows were fine good sized bathroom and air conditioning. We will certainly be going back to Koh Mak and to see the lovely people at Baan Koh Mak.
We loved our stay at Koh Mak Homestay! They were so welcoming and helpful! Alessandro picked us up from the pier and took us back when we left. They helped us with booking our next accomodation. Room was exactly what we needed. We would stay here again if we return to koh mak!
Super friendly staff, best localisation in the island, local atmosphere, really nice swimming pool, private part of the beach, super breakfasts in Cafe downstairs. Definitely one of the best place to stay in the island, definitely I will come back!
The facilities in general were very well-maintained and the people managing the resort are unbelievably helpful. This is one of the most expensive places on the island to stay but I found it to be an extremely nice and comfortable Environment.
First of all, the View!! I like that there is only our resort on the beach so, it feels private. Our room is very comfortable with, of course, super view. The staffs are very friendly and helpful.
We liked the location, the pool, the character of the resort, and the staff. We enjoyed the resort discount for the Muay Thai Gym and had a lot of fun learning from the coach, Go.
Beautiful older resort at beachfront lots of privacy at bungalow Beautiful beach in front only negative could be careful for sand flies I would return again
Perfect place at the end of the best beach at Koh Mak. Great food and helpful staff. We Will come back for sure 😊
Beautiful resort and grounds. Tasty restaurant. Golf cart for rent to zoom around the island.
The hotel located on very good spot where you can enjoy stunning ocean view.
Not a luxurious resort, but perfect to escape to the paradise. Lovely place with a beautiful pier with a bar.
Helpful and always smiling stuff, wonderful swimming pool with stunning view, great breakfasts.
