Despite having a fair amount of traffic and substantial...
Despite having a fair amount of traffic and substantial commercial and retail areas, most of Lampang feels quiet and relaxing. It's a clean, neat and tidy place. Above all, it feels safe. The river winds through the town and there are several bridge crossing it, some only for pedestrians and bicycles. There are plenty of restaurants and shops. It's the sort of place that feels like it's always Sunday afternoon: snoozing rather than buzzing!

I came to visit family and celebrate Songkran. Very beautiful and friendly people. It is a small town in the country but it is worth living such an experience.
It is also worth going to a massage, parlor where the employees are people with disabilities or blind. They are very good, friendly, professional and reasonably priced.

Lamphun is a small town with friendly, smiling people everywhere. If I visit Thailand again, I’d love to come back and stay longer. Walking around the town, you can see many temples and experience the local charm.

If you want authentic Thailand then Lampang is the place...
If you want authentic Thailand then Lampang is the place visit. It is away from the tourist hotspots the people are coming and friendly and always have a smile for you. I found this cafe called Glint that is run by a lovely young couple can I highly recommend it food is excellent and the prices are amazing. Lots of temples local flora and fauna and most of all they don’t overcharge all in all its a lovely town.

I found a lot of the locals to be quite stand offish with white people. It was the only town we visited that felt like that in all of northern thailand. for that reason, I would not come back to Lampang.

We weren't there long but it's a beautiful walking town.
We weren't there long but it's a beautiful walking town. Not a lot to do although I hear they have a very good night market but it is just on the weekends so plan your stay around it. Otherwise it's a quiet town with not too much to do except relax.

It’s very clean. Although the toilet and furniture are outdated, they keep it very clean. 1st floor has free coffee station to make coffee. From the property 10 min walk can reached to 7-11. Once a week on Thursdays , there is a night market opposite the road. Location is calm and quiet. 5 min walking distance you can have an authentic Thai meals. Washing facility is available by paying 30 bht. If you work left side from the hotels, you can find a local liquor shop with $2-3 rates.

Kanecha’s home is one of our favourite places in Thailand. The host is so welcoming and warm, making us feel at home immediately. They helped give us local guidance, helped book taxis, and much more. The room is also very spacious and clean. Also at a great central location, only a few minutes walk away from both the Friday and Saturday markets. Highly recommended! Thank you so much. Hope we can come back again!

Excellent location.Clean,spacious, comfortable room with private balcony and lots of daylight.Wardrobe and bedside tables, which are not that common in Thai hotels.Big bathroom with separated shower,good water pressure.Free,new city bicycles.Kind staff.

As a long term traveller in SE Asia this little hotel on the banks of the river in Lampang is an absolute gem. Steeped in history it has charm and ambiance in large hand fulls. Well done for keeping the nod to the past. Great cocktails too!
