Absolutely perfect in every way! This place is beautifully located, with clean, spacious rooms and bathrooms. The staff are truly the kindest and most thoughtful people. The common area, complete with a serene little pool and garden, is very nice. Plus, they offer free yoga every morning and the chance to try ice bathing (just 100 baht from 2-4). After a long, sleepless last night battling food poisoning, I couldn’t have been more grateful for the care I received here. Extending my checkout time was effortless, and they went above and beyond by offering me electrolytes, carbon tablets and water, which made a world of difference. Being so well looked after, especially while traveling solo, felt like such a blessing. Thank you for turning a rough experience into something manageable with your warmth and kindness!

Clean rooms on arrival, and cleaned everyday. Bed was comfortable. Pool view and balcony was excellent. Breakfast was the same each day, but we enjoyed it. Can rent bikes from the hotel which was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was perfect as we could walk to walking street in about 10 minutes. We extended our stay for 1 night as we loved it

Pai is so great to relax and unwind in, or to take day trips to many beautiful attractions in the area. It's easy to get to from Chiang Mai (although take your motion sickness meds), and as a hopping off point to other places like Ban Rak Thai.

I was a bit worried since I am a sober person, and ZERO worries. It's a perfect mix of chill and party, where if you dont want craziness you can slip into one of the beautiful cafe off the town, or a gorgeous yoga shala and feel in total quiet world. If you want to meet some people and have some fun, there(s always the walking street. You can have fun as someone who wants to enjoy the legal grass/party scene, but someone like me who wants to just yoga, eat good food, wake up early and enjoy the peace.

I have always loved Pai, it is an incredibly special place in our world. It has changed significantly over the years, yet it is still magical and mystical. I always think I want to spend as much time as possible there considering it is so far away, yet after three days I am ready to go. Three days is a perfect amount of time. Going to the walking market at night is always a treat and renting a moped and cruising around the outskirts is an adventure not to be missed. There is a lot of great nature to check out and a place to simply chill. It is affordable and safe as well.

Pai is a large town, but the main 'strip' with the bars and restaurants is small and easy to explore, close to the river and very friendly. Pai Canyon is a bit over-rated and stuffed with tourists at sunset, but use Pai as a base to drive up to Lod Caves, a breath-taking Indiana Jones sort of experience (in the dry season), exploring three (dry season), enormous caves with ancient burial sites, weird rock features and a mix of wildlife that varies with the seasons, a stunning landscape. Access only with local guides. Be sure to stop by Café Bar 124 just a little further up the breath-taking hair-pin road (1095) for quality authentic Thai cuisine in a kind of French-style setting. Just awesome.

Pai and area was very beautiful.

Pai and area was very beautiful. After already spending one week in Northern Thailand I was enjoying the culture and thai food. I was disappointed in the amount of tourists in Pai and the number of restaurants with western food. It was difficult to find an authentic Thai restaurant as they were not as plentiful as other places. I did enjoy the morning market with outdoor seating and a hot bowl of congee to start my day. For anyone wanting to experience authentic Thailand, the village of Pai is not the place but there are lots of things to do outside the village.

I live in Chiang Mai and have made many trips to Pai, some long and some short. It's easy to get to from Chiang Mai (about three hours in a minivan) but try to get a seat towards the front and middle if you suffer from travel sickness because the road there is full of twists and turns. For short stays Pai is a small wonderland – especially if you have your own transport (scooter or bicycle) that can be hired. There are numerous hot springs to soak in, a canyon to explore, viewpoints near and far that are excellent for sunrises and sunsets, and every night the main street through town becomes a Walking Street, lined on both sides with food, clothing and souvenir stands. A minimum three night stay with morning arrival and late afternoon departure is recommended.
